Zanzibar:

Did you not say that when you presented your patch for TPM to LEC some time ago (including mace windu and darth maul), that you also had been working on a multiplayer mode? If so, how far did you get with it?

Well, that actually was a long time ago, right as TPM went gold, one of our intrepid programmers built a LAN-only multiplayer version of TPM as a test in case LEC wanted a sequel game. Some of our team was down at Lucasarts working with the Playstation programmers for the PSX version, so a lot of us didn't have a lot to do at the time. We played the bejeezus out of it, and it's directly responsible for the creation of the Mace Windu model ;)

We also created a LAN-only level as a test for another project that turned out to be one of the most fun multiplayer maps any of us had played, in ANY game.

Alas, everything is gone <sniff>

'gone' as in all of the IP addresses were hard-coded into the executable, and the programmer left the company within a month or so after he first started toying with it, so he was never able to make it more editable. We can't even play it anymore because our networking system was rebuilt.

Wasn't all that special anyways, we never got lightsabers working (attacking OR blocking), so it was more of a guns-only deathmatch. Although the R-65 bouncing blaster was quite a bit of fun if you had someone cornered...
