Does anyone know how I can get these in kotor 2, do I need a mod to do so, or can I spawn them.. I want the regular versions no mask, or hood, because I want to reskin them to go with my hood + mask I am making..

Here is the model I want the robes for..

http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e323/SmokeESF/SithLordMaskHood.jpg)

edit.. btw
I need both robes, because there is a white mask, and hood variant as well as the black shown in the pic...

Unless the model files are in the TSL files, it can't be done, unless you do some drastic remodelling of something else...

Yea, you'll have to see if the robe models you need are already in TSL, because you can't bring them over from K1, that would be porting which is illegal, but I'm pretty sure the models are somewhere in TSL' resources

Any clue as to where, I looked for g_a_mstrrobe06/07, but didnt see them..

btw...
On a side note, this whole porting business bothers me, no offense to you mav you are just citing the "rule",

I just mean in general, i just don't understand how I can make a final fantasy 8 gunblade mod, and thats fine, I could make a harry potter wizard wand, or make a lord of the rings gandalf staff, or a terminator 2 hk skin, even a predator mask, and its cool, but if I use something from kotor 1 in kotor 2 thats not cool...

I am honestly asking here, I don't see a problem with asking why the rule covers some content but doesnt cover other content, I really want to know, so don't go locking this, I am not asking for the content, or how to do it, I am only asking about the rule..

Being a modder, I think I need this information so in the future I never release something that might be deemed illegal... Where is this line drawn..

Anyone?

Anyone?Well, you are allowed to make anything that looks exactly like anything in K1 for TSL and vice versa, but you are not allowed to directly use files from either game to place in the other. That is the difference. I could make a football helmet from scratch that looks like it is taken straight from Madden and it would be fine, but if I just took the files from Madden and converted them to TSL format than it's not allowed. Do you see what I'm trying to say? I can get a little wordy and hard to understand sometimes :)

ERFs > swpc_tex_tpa.erf > P > pmbj01.tpc, pmbj02.tpc

I wonder why nobody has tried doing this before? It all seems to be there. Goodluck anyways.

The models are in models.bif as well: pfbjm.mdl, pfbjm.mdx (for females), pmbjm.mdl and pmbjm.mdx (for males). They work fine, and are already referenced in appearance.2da for the player appearance types, and its base item still exists in baseitems.2da. Only UTI template files making use of that base item type are missing from the standard game, which are very easy to create your own. :)

@Master Kavar & Stoffe,

Thank you, I would have never found it,...

I have no idea how its going to work out though, I have to do something about the hood, even though it is down it will look funny having 2 hoods, maybe a carefully done alpha will hide it, regardless, I have to recolor it a bit.. So I guess I will have to wait and see.. Anyways, thanks..

@Maverick..

I guess, I see what you are saying, but I mean whats the difference, if I make an exact replica of a model, or use the original, its still the same model, and end result,. So it should be allowed..

Oh well.. Least I know whats cool, and not cool to do now, regardless of how ridiculous it is.. heh.. Anything I feel like as long as I made it.. WooHoo.. :D

Peace..

If you take any resources directly from another game this is what constitutes porting. This means from any other game not just between the 2 KotOR games. Replicating other things by making the assets yourself is allowed. You are confusing things created from scratch with things taken from other games.

Porting isn't allowed here for obvious legal reasons. Sorry but this is the way it is.

But this is all a moot point here since the assets for the dress-like Revan Robes are in the files shipped with TSL there is no porting issue here. ;)

Edit: HouseOfAmon, I have moved your large off-topic post about this topic to the Feedback Forum (http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?p=2167423#post2167423). At least your concerns can get an answer this way instead of me simply deleting the post.

If anyone has any further questions about the rules they may ask about it in our Feedback Forum (http://www.lucasforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=584) as that is what it is for, but this is a mod thread so lets get back to the mod.

No more about porting people. Any further posts on this here will simply be deleted as off-topic. Sorry.

Well I still need to do something about the robes hood, and the color so it better matches my mask, and hood, but it is in Kotor 2 now, so thank you...

http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e323/SmokeESF/SithLordsRobe.jpg)

What do you suggest for the removal of the star forge robes hood, as it looks funny with my hood as well, even though the hood is down, from back or side it looks way off... And those boots gotta go as well...

So can I edit the model, or is that not possible, can I do it with an alpha... i would prefer to edit the model, as I suck at texturing.. but I get an error when I try to recompile to binary with mdlops....

I would leave the hood. I think its fine.

F.Y.I.
Most of KotOR I's models and textures are hidden in KotOR II. All you need to do is activate them. Mess with the Appearance.2da and Heads.2da files. Also use the KotOR tool to match KotOR I models to their counter-parts in KotOR II, so you will know their designations. At the end of the day, you will only need to add a few edits, and then you will have what you want.

The files are allready in KotOR II, and all you need to do is activate them.

Are you going to make a small series?

I think you misunderstood, you can't see the hood in the other pic, the hood you are seeing is one I made, so is the mask, the hood I am referring too was part of the original star forge robe model, thats not the cutscene revan model in the pic, its the star forge outfit with the hood down, wearing my custom mask and hood, so the model has my hood up, and the default models hood down...

So there are 2 hoods on the model..

See what I mean...
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e323/SmokeESF/2Hoods1.jpg)

Also here...
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e323/SmokeESF/2Hoods2.jpg)

Here is what I really want to do though, but I can't figure out how to do it, I know avol did it for his vader outfit.... So its possible somehow...

The robe, would be seperate from the hood+mask..... This is just how it would look on the a character wearing both.....
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e323/SmokeESF/SithLordCustom.jpg)

So basically I am creating my own Darth personality, there was Darth sidious, Revan, sion, nihilus, now I am giving my character his own Darth Look... :)

So either need to figure out how to make nihilus robe wearable for pc's, or get rid of the extra hood on the star forge robes.......

Alright, now I am trying to add the custom star forge robes I did to Kotor 1, but the files arent the same, so what are they in kotor 1?

The only thing I could find was pmbjs or something like that, and it appeared to be the right robe, but when I made my edits to that robe, it did nothing..

So what are these files called in kotor I guess is my main question...

And does anyone know why when I tried to edit the female star forge robes it deformed like crazy, is there something special about them that I didnt notice.. I did the same to the male, it was fine, but those, whew, I can't even describe how bad they deformed.. :)

They apeared to be the same as the male just more slender..

This has been holding up 2 of my mods, so if anyone knows either of the answers I need please let me know.. :)

Here is what I need them for, I want this version of the robe in kotor 1..

(You cant really tell in the pic, but its been recolored a bit, and had the hood removed...)
Peace

In KotoR1 there are three separate models for each gender since, unlike in TSL, the Soldier, Scout and Scoundrel starting classes have different body sizes. Thus you have...

Soldier(large): PMBJL (male), PFBJL (female)
Scout(medium): PMBJM (male), PFBJM (female)
Scoundrel(small): PMBJS (male), PFBJS (female)

...as the name of the MDL/MDX files for the Starforge/Revan robes. All models use the same textures though, PMBJ#.tpc.
