With Shadow, Trando, and Seth in the speeder, Raze gratefully headed back to the ship, content to let K'Nala and the others to deal with the rancor-loving Hutt.
As she piloted the speeder through the streets, she gave a backwards look at the Doc and Shadow in the back seats.
"How's Shadow doing?" she asked Trando, trying to keep a watchful eye on him without being 'too' obvious with her suspicion of 'Doctor Death.'
"He's okay," Trando told Raze, "He just needs some rest. But don't worry, I'll keep my eye on him."
K'Nala, Vanir and Jack got into another Airspeeder and flew it directly to the building where Gualla The Hutt resided. She parked the speeder near the building just out of sight of any security and K'Nala turned to the Captain. "There are two ways to this play this, we can go in through the front door and kill everything on the way to the Crime lord, or we can go in trough the roof and quietly enter his chamber from there. So Captain how will we do this?"
"Well, normally i would say burst in and shoot everything in his front to hell, but we can't afford one of us getting hurt, so, we'll go through the roof. Although, if any of you has an idea, now's a pretty good time," He told his companions.
Jack was thinking about Vanir's suggestion for a second. "'The roof sounds like a good idea." He finally responded. "I'll plant some explosives once we get inside. It'll be a sort of 'returning favour' for sending that rancor." He paused and looked at the palace.
After carefully examing the guards on the roof, he continued discussing the plan."The rooftop guards shouldn't be a problem I'll deal with them. You two should start interrogating that slimy Hutt right away, if he has vital information, we need it." He continued and was aware of K'Nala's reaction to the last suggestion. "I know you're dying to do some torturing K'Nala, I have complete confidence in you that you'll rip the information out of that big fat skull of his."
"Can't think of a better person for the job either. If a Dark Jedi isn't capable of squeezing the information out of that Hutts big fat skull...then who is?"
"He's okay," Trando told Raze, "He just needs some rest. But don't worry, I'll keep my eye on him."Despite the Doctor's 'reassurance' that he would keep an eye on Shadow, Raze continued to look over her shoulder now and again on her way back to the ship, just to make sure the big guy was at least still breathing.
When they pulled up to the Carnage, Raze jumped out. With the help of Trando and Seth, the three of them managed to get Shadow inside and into the medbay where they laid his blood-crusted body on one of the examination tables. "At least he's stopped bleeding," Raze said. "Looks like he'll need some bacta and a few stitc...."
Raze abruptly paused mid-sentence. It was the first time she had actually been in the med bay since the arrival of 'Doctor Death,' and she was shocked by what she saw.
"Great Gobs of Bantha Poodoo!" Raze exclaimed, her eyes wide. "Where the heck did you get all of this stuff!"
The med bay's shelves were loaded with strange looking potions, specimen jars, and instruments. She picked one of the instruments up and examined it, frowning slightly as she turned it over in her hands. She wasn't sure if she was holding it the right way 'round, but it looked to her like the offspring of a demented union between a vibra-scalpel and the fractional penetration welder their engineer Richard used to seal joints and engine conduits.
"What this?" she asked Trando. Then she frowned even more. "Nevermind," she said, putting it down where she had found it. "I don't think I want to know." She looked down at Shadow. "Well, Doc?" she said to Trando. "Do your stuff. Heal him."
She tapped Seth's shoulder. "C'mon," she said to him. "We'll need someone to stand as a lookout, just in case K'Nala decides to bring uninvited guests back with her. There's plenty of weapons in the storage locker in the common room. Choose something lethal and then go stand guard near the ramp. I'm going to check on our Mr. Logan to see how things are with the ship."
"Oh don't worry," Trando told Raze, "I'll cure him. He is useful to us. Oh and don't worry about my equipment. Those are just my tools of healing or killing those who need it."
Raze gave Trando a strange look. She wasn't sure if the Doctor had just threatened her or not, but decided to let it slide for the moment. She stared at some of the instruments again, then shook her head and shivered. Yup, it was probably best that she didn't know what they were used for. Or, more importantly, how.
"Yeah, well, just remember that Shadow needs 'healing,'" she said, then left the med bay with Seth in tow.
As soon as Raze left, Trando immediately got to work. He picked up a small bottle that contained pink liquid. This would heal Shadow's wounds, and then he also picked up another small bottle containing a green liquid in. This would keep Shadow alive, for Trando wasn't sure if he would survive or not. The chances were that Shadow would survive. He mixed the two bottles together and poured them inside Shadow's mouth. He left the medical bay to tell Raze.
"Raze, he'll be under my care for the next few days!" He shouted, "He'll be fine, I promise!"
"Ok, Seth," Raze said to the Zabrak. "You guard the ramp from any 'uninvited' guests that may appear and want to have a look 'round. Specifically any Republic clone soldiers, Jedi, or other bounty hunters."
Just as Raze was leaving Seth on the ramp, Trando appeared. "Raze, he'll be under my care for the next few days!" He shouted, "He'll be fine, I promise!"
Raze blinked. "Next few days?" she asked incredulously. "What, you can't you just soak him in bacta or something?" She had no idea that Shadow's injuries had been that serious. "Great. I'm sure K'Nala will be ever so pleased with that when she and the captain get back. But I'm sure you can explain it to them."
She headed to the cockpit, to check on how the ship's condition was, and to do a preflight. Not that she was taking off right away, but she figured that when the others got back from their little 'excursion' that she would have to leave in a hurry. And she wanted to keep the Carnage intact.
She slipped into the pilot's seat. "Mr. Logan?" she said into the com to Richard as she adjusted her earpiece in her ear. "How's everything? I need this ship ready to go in a moment's notice."
Raze blinked. "Next few days?" she asked incredulously. "What, you can't you just soak him in bacta or something?"
Bacta Tank? Trando thought, Didn't think of that. Trando returned to treat his patient, but even in a Bacta Tank, it would take several days for his wounds to heal. Luckily it took less time for someone to be healed. Trando put him in and hoped that he would be okay by the time the others returned.
She slipped into the pilot's seat. "Mr. Logan?" she said into the com to Richard as she adjusted her earpiece in her ear. "How's everything? I need this ship ready to go in a moment's notice."
"Everythings ready." Logan replied "So how'd the meeting with the hutt go? I bet that was fun, since those Hutts are such lovely and generous people"
Raze snorted. "Oh, yeah. Real generous," she said to Richard. "So generous that he even let us play with his pet rancor while we went to rescue Shadow." She shivered with disgust as she remembered the huge beast and its malodorous smell. "Anyway, Richard, I don't know how the meeting went. After we found Shadow injured, K'Nala, the Captain, and Jack went to go and meet with Gualla. No doubt she'll think of some interesting way to accomplish that." She paused for a moment. "Oh, and by the way, the Republic knows we're here," she added. "Not sure if Gualla had something to do with it or not, but there were clone troopers scattered all over the place. So, I put Seth on guard duty at the ramp. If you're not doing anything urgent, you might want to go there and help him keep an eye on things. I've got a feeling that we're going to need to leave in a hurry and it's probably best that we don't have any 'entanglements' lurking around the landing pad, if you know what I mean."
OOC: About time some one posted...
IC:
"Well, are you ready? We can wait for a bit, but not for too long."
(( *applies CPR on the mercenary crew* "LIVE!!!" ))
"I'll clear the roof." Jack stated, and attached a grappling hook to his blaster rifle. He aimed it at the top of the building and fired it. The hook flew towards the roof's edge and gripped it on impact. "Wait for my signal." he said after he checked whether the grappling hook was secured or not, and started climbing up the wall.
Jack reached the rooftop in a matter of seconds. Slowly raising his head above the edge, he looked around to check out the guards.
"Bothans, figured Gualla wouldn't let brainless gamoreans guard the roof."
He unleashed his grappling hook after he climbed on top of the rooftop and activated his stealth generator. Jack sneaked behind a ventilation shaft without making any noise and hung his blaster rifle on his back. There were only four guards on the roof, all of them armed with blaster rifles, bowcasters, the usual. Two of them were standing on the other side of the ventilation shaft, another one was standing near the edge of the roof and the last one was walking right in front of him.
Jack sneaked up behind and pressed a button on his wrist armour, releasing one of his daggers. The bothan's throat was cut with one swift movement with Jack's right dagger. The blood cluttered in his throat as the bothan was pulled down to the ground and died within seconds. The two guards standing on the other side of the ventilation shaft didn't hear anything as Jack sneaked up behind one of them. Since cutting down one of them would alert the other right away, Jack aimed his wrist launcher above the bothan's shoulder, and shot a dart in the neck of the other one. The bothan immediately reached for his neck, but it was too late. The poison already killed him before he could even touch the dart. His partner saw him collapsing and wanted to yell "alarm", but he couldn't speak because of a terrible pain running through his back. When he looked down, he could see the end of Jack's vibro katana sticking out of his chest, which had pierced his lungs, preventing him from yelling. The bothan slowly slid off the end of the katana and dropped down on the ground, with the expression of extreme pain still reflected on his face. Guard number four hadn't heard anything, and was cheerfully watching the city streets. Suddenly, the bothan heard something behind him and turned around, bowcaster ready. There was nothing there. The bothan murmured something and started turning around again, until he saw a blink of something shiny heading towards his face. Before the bothan could say a word or even pull the trigger, his head was sliced off his upper body and fell down on the street, right next to the place where K'Nala and Vanir where standing.
Jack slid his katana back into it's sheath on his back. He walked up the roof edge and looked down. "All clear." He said softly and grinned at Vanir and K'Nala, although they couldn’t see that through his helmet.
"Great, let's go," Vanir said, motioning to get inside. He took out a Thermal Detonator and threw it, yelling for Jack to watch out, and in seconds, the whole entrance area had fallen. Vanir took out his Twin Pistols and started shooting at the many pillars in the area, making them fall as well onto the Gamorrean guards. He hid them and then took out his Vibro Longsword.
"Who wants to die first?" He asked in a way to give pure fear."
( ooc-*get's the paddles* "Clear")
K'Nala Follows Vanir in and watches the ships captain make alot of noise. "Well there goes our Quiet attack!"
"We still have the element of surprise," He said, slashing at everyone who was stupid enough to put themselves in his front.
K'nala watched Vanir kill the last of the guards who desided to attack him, She decided she's stay back as the two mercenaries could obviously handle the situation. "Now we should go before the Hutt hears of our arrival, if he hasn't already."
K'Nala Led the way up some steps towards the Hutt's audiance chamber, on arrival at the door two gamoreans stood outside as doorman. K'Nala simply held out both her hands raised them causing the two gomoreans to float off the ground. She then twisted her hands around and clenched her fist causing the Gamorean's Bodies to seeminly be crushed. She then released them and allowed them to fall on the floor. Using the Force once again she pushed open the doors Revealing the Hutt lying on a bed surrounded by seven guards of various species. "Take it away boys, but we need the Hutt alive."
Raze anxiously tapped her fingers on the console. "What's taking them so long?" she said outloud. She tuned the comlink to the landing control channel, then turned on the ship's long range scanners and began to scan the surrounding area for any signs of Vanir and the others.
....fimative, Vexus I," Raze heard the controller say on the comm. "Approach on vector 168..."
Vexus I? Raze frowned a bit as the name of the approaching ship sounded familiar. She quickly tapped the name into the ship's computer index.
"...to landing pad C2-4."
"Confirmed," a very polite voice answered the controller. "Landing pad C2-4. We have it in sight.'"
Raze frowned. C2-4? That was their landing pad.
"Crap," she said. The information she had requested scrolled up onto the screen. "Double crap," she said as she realised who Vexus I belonged to and where she had heard the name before. "Kriffin' Jedi," she muttered. She hit the com button. "Mr. Logan, I hope those engines are in tip top condition, 'cause we got to go. Now." She switched channels. "Seth? Get back in the ship. I'm closing the ramp. We're taking off."
Raze knew that Vanir and K'Nala wouldn't be pleased about her decision. But they would be even less pleased if the Carnage got boarded by a Jedi strike team. She would just have to pick them up later.
(( /\/\/\______________ "No response!" ))
“watch out” Vanir yelled.
Jack’s eyes widened when he saw Vanir pulling out a Thermal Detonator…. He realised what Vanir was about to do, and without hesitation he turned around, he ran as quickly as he could and threw himself forward. Instantly, the thermal detonators went off and the part of the rooftop where Jack had just been standing broke down and collapsed in the explosion. Smoke and dust scattered across the rooftop with Jack laying ontop of it, only a meter away from the crater caused by the explosion. He got up and wiped the dust off of his armour. “I swear if that guy does something like that again….” Jack murmured. If Vanir told him he was going to do that, he wouldn’t have bothered taking out the rooftop guards quietly in the first place.
"Who wants to die first?"
Jack sighed heavily when he heard the noise of reckless fighting, and jumped down on the debris. Not bothering to draw out any weapons, he simply followed K’Nala and watched the carnage caused by Vanir.
"Now we should go before the Hutt hears of our arrival, if he hasn't already." K'Nala said. Jack nodded in response and followed her as she led the way through the Hutt’s palace.
When the doorway to the audience room and the two gamoreans were in sight, Jack immediately reached for his blaster rifle, but let go of it when he noticed that the gamoreans started to..…fly. He turned to look at K’Nala, who simply was standing there, holding out both of her hands, controlling the fate of the two gamoreans using the force. The moment she twisted them and clenched her firsts, the two gamoreans were crushed. Jack grinned. “Interesting, Secura never showed me that trick.” He thought. Jack was amused by the show and continued to watch K’Nala as she forced the doors open with only a mere movement of her hands. A group of seven bodyguards could be seen inside the room, surrounding their target, Gualla, the Hutt.
"Take it away boys, but we need the Hutt alive." K’Nala ordered.
“Will be done.” Jack answered. He turned his stealth generator on and disappeared once more. The guards, apparently surprised by the sudden disappearance of one of their targets, started randomly shooting at doorway in which Vanir and K’Nala were standing. They had no idea what else they could do in their situation, which suited Jack just fine. Six of the guards were already standing in front of the Hutt, shooting at the doorway, but one of them, a rodian, had to walk around the Hutt first to be able to get a clear shot. The rodian positioned himself next to the group, and readied his heavy blaster rifle.
The heavy blaster rifle caught the assassin's attention. "Perfect." Jack thought. Before the rodian’s finger was even able to pull the trigger, the assassin reappeared behind him. Jack’s hands reached the rodian’s head, and twisted it swiftly. He could hear the cracking of bones clearly, but it was not heard by the others, who were still busy shooting at Vanir and K’Nala and did not hear nor notice it through the noise of blaster fire. The Hutt, unable to get away from the fighting, froze the moment he saw Jack catching the rodian’s body as it fell to the ground. The Hutt started yelling desperately when Jack took the heavy blaster rifle out of the dead rodian’s hands. Only then, when the rodian fell to the ground and the Hutt yelled, did the rest of the group notice Jack’s reappearance. In all of the confusion, most of the guards stopped shooting at the doorway and started to turn towards Jack, whilst others simply froze out of fear. A few of the guards were killed by Vanir, who used the distraction to get a clear shot. Jack used the rodian’s heavy blaster rifle to mow down the rest of them. The guards fell to the ground, one by one, utterly fried by the blaster fire from the heavy blaster rifle. Jack was standing in between the burning remains of the guards and made sure every last one of them was dead. After executing the last survivor, he turned back towards the doorway and shouted the all clear.
