As the topic suggests! The latest Designer Diary (http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/starwarsempireatwarforces/news.html?sid=6154936) mentioned about such an item in the upcoming expansion; Forces of Corruption.

Some folk have told stories dating back thousands of years before the Clone Wars - others claim that it is a myth! As the shroud of mystery is slowly being lifted over Tyber Zann and his bunch of scum - we would love to hear your thoughts and views about this new discovering in the game.

I'm gonna bet it is some sort of Sith holocron possibly from the KotOR era. I don't know, though, since I haven't played those games.

Someone told me that they heard it's a power-up for whoever has it. Eh, I'd put money that it's a tactical modifier for the Underworld, as Ilum and Korriban are for the Rebels and Empire.

Maybe you put the Holocron in a temple and generates mad $$$?

Holocron would be predictible, i would say it is some rare sith artifact that harnesses power or something to tie into the Eclipse. Im assuming they would both work hand in hand.

You are probably right. I think we will have to fnd the artifact in the game to power the eclipse's laser.

the most probable option is a sith holocron, but it may be a crystal with force power (kinda a kybber crystal) to make the Eclipse superlaser(or whathever is that) functonable

In the article, the Sith artifact seems to be a seperate element from the Eclipse.

I believe that artifact is something that can mass corrupt people or something. It keeps the same tone of the Underworld and is not farfetched since well, Sith are known to corrupt.

They sure havent so far, so its certainly a possibility. Besides, no one ever said that there was only one. Why only have one, when you have enough resources to build millions?

The Star Forge is not a Sith artifact.

It was made by the Rakata, only to be "stolen" by Revan to produce a Sith armada. Its origins are not Sith.

Besides, using the Star Forge would be pretty lame.

Star Forge is boring and old, at all for what do your want millons of ships when you have SDDs Executor and Eclipse? i also think that the emperor will be searching for it at all, its a dark side artifact most surely a holocron, or a force powering crystal

You're not blind.
There is no picture.

And there is no picture provided because none exist. :)

The SIth Artifact was only mentioned in a Designer Diary.

Oh. Okay. In that case. I think it's probably some kind of weapon. You know, for a underworld guy, Typer Zahn sure does want alot of weapons. Where does one hide a 17 kimometer long ship? What does a underworld guy do with one?

Anyway, yeah. A weapon of some sort. But holocron makes more sense.

Actually Star Forge may not be that far off. It could be an old Sith artifact from the Old Republic era, something that ties into a small quest featured in Kotor. They could be really good and make it an item or fixed object that was passed by the palyer on Korriban in Kotor. Althoguh i think im just being a Kotor fanboy now.

I just thought, what if it's a power up item for the Rebs and Emp, but if the Underworld gets it, they can ransom it off?

I say that since money seems to be the key for the Underworld.

I think the Sith artifact will be a McGuffin, an item that's only there in Campaign mode and that gives your troops a boost or unlocks some unit or other in the campaign. My guess is that it will mostly be a story device to keep the story moving forward and not something you can install in your base for any special effects.

Well I think since the Corrupt timeline, like some of the Empire's timeline, have many fictional(read non-canon) parts.

I also think the Sith Artifact is purely there to provide a bonus, and is not the item you can use. So no creating huge amounts of illutionary troops and ships... or is it?

crazy idea, A LightSaber crystal for that nightsister with the whip-like's lightsaber!!! LOL

You sure need that to train Anakin's grandson/brother! :3

Although E@W may not be the most popular game out there, I don't think it needs to pull a "Galaxy" and try to rip elements from KotOR (HK-47 on Mustafar *shudders*).
That's both desperate and stupid.

EAW isn't UNpopular though. I don't think they'll make aKOTOR reference woith a item or unit. No if they had HK class droids, thats okay, as long as it's not THE HK-47. Die Hard KOTOR fans would jump ship if Petro did that. No, it's most likely something that has to do with great knowledge. It might be the end game thing, since it has to end somehow. It's your ultimate goal. Maybe it's a statue from Korriban.....who knows. SageKing should tell us.

Intruiging ideas so far, however, I think considering thegenral habit of RTS storlines. It will probably be a holocron.

lol thats certanly what it appears to be, but if it wernt, i had a thought that maybe it harnesses the darkside of the force, like a focusing crystal, and its channeled into your troops giving them a bonus like better protection or something like that

Spoilers

I just finished the campaign. It's a Sith Holocron Star Map showing some areas of the galaxy already mapped, but with a second function. Apparently it interfaced with the Eclipse or something like that. There's alot it doesn't explain.
