umm, doesn't seem anybody posted this yet, but the lucasarts website for the game got spanked with all types of shiny.
new intro (basically squad intro from new trailer).
website now looks like you are looking through a trooper's visor.
new wallpapers.
system requirements posted.
there is now an official forum (of course not as nice as this one)
basic information like allies, enemies, weapons.
oh yeah and there is mention of a pc demo with a nice coming soon message when putting the cursor over it. hopefully before the game is released and soon.

Well, they might release it after the game is already out. Or they might wait untill awhile after the game is released then take the PC Demo: Coming Soon off the website.

Yeh, but they already have an XBox demo out, so I think there will be a PC one before release.

i wouldn't go by having a xbox demo meaning a pc demo. if i remember correctly the star wars trilogy had a xbox battlefront demo.

No, more trandoshans are a greenish-yellow color, kind of like Bossk. :)
Maybe the red trandos have sun burn.
Anyway, what i really like, is that the 'look and feel' of the game seems to be closer to Episode IV than Episode II. That's cool...
I played the game. Kinda reminded me of a prequel-set Jedi Knighr game. :)

Yeah, it's dark and the levels seem to be very detailed. Doom 3 kept coming to mind as I looked at the site (although this game is made on Unreal Tech).
This looks very good. I have a lot more confidence in this game than I did with the newer Jedi Knight games (JO and JA) or Battlefront.

Me too, they haven't even released the KOTOR 2 system req's yet and it's already been released...
If you go to the squad page and wait a while for each squad member they will show an animation of reloading.

that's a nice touch which they also used for the characters on the KotOR 2 website.

the website has the icons and screensavers availible now.
also on the gamefaqs forum someone posted that a german magazine had the pc demo for the game on it. i can't confirm it what so ever, but if it is on a german magazine it won't be long for it to appear on a website at the least.

i translated it by searching for the link in google. sometimes it doesn't give you a translate button, i just pressed refresh.
for those of you not wanting to go to google and search for the link to let google translate it. the message is dated jan. 23, 2005 and it basically said it had to remove a demo for republic commando because it was not suppose to be released on the internet and that there is a rumour it will come out sometime next week officially. here's hoping.
