I did it all through the internet. Never called anyone...

RROD'd on March 2nd, towel tricked till 3/16. Sent on 3/17. Shipped out on 3/25. Home on 3/31. So, assuming that it arrived 3 or 4 days after I sent it. It was repaired in 3 or 4 days - over a weekend (though I doubt that they close shop on Sundays).

wow. i decided to upgrade my sisters computer since i've been using it alot.

didnt feel like waiting for shipping or traveling beyond 20 miles so i just picked up the visiontek x1300 256mb pci graphics card at walmart.

http://images.dailytech.com/nimage/2407_x1300_256_pci.jpg)

it was very easy to install. this computer only has 512mb ram, so i used rogue nine's advice and went to newegg.com, and they have a very nice thing there that you just put in make and type of computer you have (this one's a dell dimension 3000) and it brings up all compatible memory. so i ordered 2 1gb sticks of ddr pc3200, which should make alot of difference in gaming.

hell my old computer which im contemplating getting new case/mobo/cpu for has a ati radeon x300 128mb pci-e card and originally had 512mb ddr2, but replacing that with 1gb made an impressive amount of difference, hopefully it's the same for this computer.

Just a bit of an update, I actually played through the first level of Condemned, and all I have to say is, Holy F***in S***, this game is insanely intense. I was on edge for the entire level. At one point I heard a noise behind me, so I looked behind me, and a bucket was moving on the ground. So I thought ok, maybe I backed into a bucket. So I turned back around. What I thought was the door I was supposed to go through wasn't right, so I turned around to come face to face with an insane man wielding a 2x4 with screws in it, swinging it at my face.

I'm not gonna lie, that moment alone scared the **** out of me :|

What's cool about Forza 2 is that I can save this 150 layer piece of work to a file, then add it to any car I want.

Spent 45 minutes making the Altair bust. I plan on improving it and making more of his body latter if I can.

Huh, I didn't know you had a PSP. What games did you have for it before disowning it?

---

Also, happy day, my first car sold for $143,000 on Forza 2. Just pay $94,000 for the 2002 Honda Mugen Integra, give it $5000 worth of upgrades to the tires (nice big-assed rims), ???, Profit! And since I'm starting out in career mode, this is a huge boost for me.

Already took my money and turned around and bought another car to sell again, so happy day.

Edit: You've got to see the amount of artistry and customization the online community can come up with, at the moment I'm watching Forza TV, watching a bunch of guys screwing around with some weird cars. Including a VW Beetle that at the moment of writing, is going well over 180 miles per hour. Proudly emblazoned with the words "Beetle Destruction" on it's side.

Oh right, I just got back from Europe. Also a first. Like it was the first time I've left Canada. And it was the first I have been on a plane. There were a lot firsts on this trip. :p

Germany was without a doubt my favourite place. And the drinking age is 16+. So yeah. :D Munich was great. And so ****in' clean. Man, way cleaner than here I think. The whole damn country was. Although, Dachau was depressing, but everything else was fantastic.

Italy was sweet. So, was Switzerland. But Germany was definitely my fav.

I guess I have been completely ignorant of Forza my entire life. You can actually do that? I'm no gearhead but I imagine that if I could learn about cars I would totally dig souping them up. I need to check that game out.

I've been building a home theater/man-room of profound awesomeness for a while now and I just got the AV equipment up and running. The room isn't finished yet but most everything is in place. May I present to you, the business end of my home theater:

http://i29.tinypic.com/25hfv6b.jpg)

The projector is a Panasonic AX200U and the screen is 108" diagonal. I built the screen myself by coating an MDF board with a homemade theater screen goo using various paints, metal/pearl acrylics and urethanes.

The room has a 1000W surround sound system, a mini fridge, arcade machine, secondary tv, Xbox360, Wii, Xbox, a gaming rig that feeds into the sound system and projector, remote controlled lighting, a couch, a three guitar rack with a large Peavy amp for jammin', and a leather recliner with built in massage.

I'll post more pictures as I finish things in the room. Right now I'm building a smoked glass shelving unit to go under the screen to house the electronics and mute their lights.

Here's a video of it in action playing Bioshock on the 360:

Much respect to you Rhett in knowing how make a room like this happen. Did the Missile Command game spark this project? Did you find tips online to make the screen? Nice track lighting there too, btw.

Forty-two (21 female and male) 8th graders on an island with one rule: Last one standing leaves. Great idea huh? Like Lord of the Flies,
but no dead pigs or a fat kid who has a tendency to fall to his death.

Well, only barely cracked it but I'm eager to get deeper into it. Really hefty feeling book, high quality printing and a laminated cover,

Yeah, and I've seen it. But this book is pretty damn big, 560+ pages and pretty small font. So I guess there is a lot more to learn about the story in the original book version. The movie is just a sort of thriller, but I like the idea of getting more meat from it and getting the more detailed story behind the kids.

Anyway, I was actually looking for something else and came across the Lord of the Rings "area" that you find in every Sci-fi/fantasy section at Barnes and Nobel, and this was right next to it (Tolkien, Takami) . Then I was like "I gotta read this" and got it with a gift card I had since Christmas that has been burning a hole in my pocket.

Also, I just noticed: see the area between the silhouettes?

Fer the love of god don't rush it. There are basically two types of people who play this game: Those who rush from mission to mission and lose all the fun in the game. And those who wonder around, exploring, killing, and climbing, and doing investigations as they come by; having the most fun.
