Ya, I was thinking about that. If you can get Monsoontide to model the Clone wars Rocket launcher I'll do the appropriate anim to hold it, draw it, run/walk with it. :)

You'll notice I created a square/circle in front. My plan is to do that on all sides.
I'll add some more and do some nice blocking for the dual and staff. Inculding ditching the lame dual blocking anims and try for multi directional stuff instead. As well as a feeble attempt at least of motion capturing Darth maul blocking.
As soon as razor gets his Ledge grab code done I'll finish the ledge grab stuff with a shimmy left/right, and let go/pull up variations for jedi/merc.
Next, (yes there is a next) I'll get cracking on a whip weapon. Including adding in some grabs with this weapon.

I think a laser blocking animation like Obi-Wan used in the Geonosis arena to block that short series of lasers coming towards him (twirling the saber in front of him and alternating sides-sorry, I can't think of how else to explain it and I don't know what it's called) would be a cool animation.
I don't know how practical that would be in game, how it would be done, and how hard it would be to implement with functionality, but it's just a thought.:(

If you can find a coder who wants to work on initializing weapons that animate, then I'll finish this up. As it is its just brainstorming.
More than likely this would require a whole re-write of the animation function to incorporate this.
As it is the only animations that are initlialized are player, npc, and vehicle.

The dual blasters is probably most practical new anim I noticed in your screenshots (though thats just for JKA).
What I'd like is a way to block lightning with saber (like obi wan vs dooku) but thats not an anim thing, so no worries there.
I was thinking, how about a one armed handstand like luke on Dagobah?

Is it possible, using this, to make animations that could be used in cutscenes for SP maps, but not added as new moves or features?
I've heard that several animations that were used in game can't be accessed via scripts, and this would allow people to make animations like those, but fit them to their needs. Plus it'd be nice for SP mappers to have the freedom of new anims.
Anyways, just curious if it's possible or restricted to multiplayer. :)

Oh I know. I'm just saying that once you get into doing somehting that involves lots of action you'd better be a damn good animator ot its going to look like total crap.
With the skeleton i set up there is no IK its only FK. So your work is cut out for you. And your going to have to keyframe the entire thing. Which sucks; big time.
Say, is there a way to get lightsabers to have animated hilts? I wanted to have lightsabers that opened up and extended when powered on.
I recall this being asked last month somewhere and the answer is, no. :( As cool as it would be to have moving parts (ie. Predator's retractable weapons), the closest you'll get is if it's an animated texture much like an animated GIF, but nothing that'll alter the model.
Can motion capture be applied to that skeleton?
I have no experience with motion capture and have no access to any facility or anything; it's just another curious question.

Wow, talk about ancient. Here's a character that can make use of a whip. Lumiya (

http://www.starwars.com/databank/character/lumiya/img/bts_bg.jpg). That issue was probably the introduction of dual wielding sabers, or in Luke's case a lightsaber and lightdagger.
