http://lotrmod.web1000.com/maps.html) (not sure if these will work for NON US user, theyve been having some truble. anyways heres some stufff.
woah that looks great for a moria map man, good work and good luck to your mod!
LOTR is a good idea for an mod, I hope you all can pull it off!
Be careful. Lord of the Rings has a lot of settings that would make for great duels or great hundred-thousand-strong-army battles, but not much in between. They can lok AMAZING, it's true, but gameplay and performance might suffer...as well as the fact that many maps couldn't be played properly with this game engine. Check out my reviews of Moria II (
http://map-review.ravencommunity.net/index.php?page=review_view&game=JO&id=25) and Helm's Deep (
http://map-review.ravencommunity.net/index.php?page=review_view&game=JO&id=86) (Darth.Hunter's...far superior to Nathan's in my opinion). Really...don't do Helm's Deep, the flow would be horrible. For only <32 players, though, you could have a lot of success in Moria, Amon Hen, Rivendell, Weathertop, Osgiliath...some great duel maps might be the Bridge of Khazad-Dum, the top of Orthanc tower, Weathertop, the pass at Cirith Ungol. Just some thoughts.
Yawn. Yet another LOTR mod bound for the Recycle Bin.
thats not nice Wudan. Anyways, wedge, being one of the people who I look up to the most, I've already figured that problem out :S What I have been experimenting with is that with the new brush setup, and NPC abilityy in multi player, to have very detailed LOOKING maps, however alot of it being in shaders or textures. That way I HOPE to be able to get the sort of large scale armies required for a LOTR mod

eh? helm's deep would make for a decent seige map.
It's really too bad there isn't a warning label that comes with starting TCs. Part of the reason that there are sooooo many failled TCs is because it's very hard to make a good one - and most never get finished.
I'm not saying you can't do it, it's within the realm of possibility that you could finish something. However, the odds of completing something that qualifies as a TC is sufficient enough to wager that Total Nuclear War among the nations of the Earth will happen before you release a TC.
Ahh but the knowing US policy the chances of that are high :D
Ugh. Your website needs a redesign - I need to talk to whoever your webmaster is.
The Moria map needs a lot of work, too. The lighting is bad, and Balin's Tomb looks brand new, instead of broken down and crumbling like it did in the movie. It just needs more detail overall.
Best of luck to you on this, but I'm inclined to agree with Wudan. I've seen a lot of LotR TCs come and go (a lot of LotR models, too). Just set achievable goals and keep working hard on it and you'll get there. Work with what you got, too. Don't say "Oh, we want to do something cool but we're waiting for the SDK" and bank everything on that. Just some friendly advice. :)
Good job the moria map looks amazing, very professional. Good luck with the rest.
hey eldritch I'm our webmaster  . I dont even pretend to know much about web design or HTML. Any help would be greatly apreciated. I've seen yur site and know what you can do. If you'de email me at darksquirreldude@yahoo.com I'de appreciate it!:D

You need to do some work for our TC lol.
I agree with the comment on Balin's tomb and how it looks like it was just polished up, whereas it should look dusty, rundown.. Literally falling apart. Also, it looks to large in those pics from what I can remember. I know its not easy to just go and redo the size, but thats just my 2 cents.
Redesign is done. It's all set to be put up - I just need the FTP information. Also, are your forums customizeable to the point where I can match their layout to that of the new website?
Hit me up on messenger when you get a chance, Deathbringer.
Just wanted to let everyone know that the new site is up at a new home -
http://lotrMod.digi-phoenix.com)
Not too bad... Not too bad at all!
Now, I'm not getting my hopes up for this MOD, seeing as I reckon it will take at the very least a year to complete!:(
But good luck to you anyway! I'd love to see this get completed sometime!:)
So whats the statis....anything new?
DB is sending me some new screenshots to put up. As soon as I have them, I'll update the site.
Hindy's made a Gollum model which I've skinned. Once it's released Hindy might let you use it for your project.
More info here; "WIP: Gollum" (

Eldritch you gonna make any LOTR maps or have any in progress?
As of now, no. I doubt I'll have the time, but I won't rule it out completely.
The site was updated recently with these shots, but I might as well show them here for those too lazy to go to the site. ;)

I think they speak for themselves. :D
I still refuse to believe you did that wonderful skin for Sting in 20 minutes. :p
The skin was applied in 20 minutes. Applied. It was created beforehand, and took a good deal longer than 20 minutes.
Ah well. that doesn't stop it from being wonderful. :)
I'm not like a massive LOTR fan but those swords are freaking awesome! I see some real talent collecting in this mod, very exciting indeed :) JA is in many ways very well suited to a LOTR project, just as JO was great for Colloseum - I have high hopes!
those swords are really amazing!! I like them!! Good job!
Feep it up :p
Cute girl :D. Oh! Right, cool swords, I wish I had one of those in real life.
Btw, are you all 3dsmax modellers?
No, some members of the mod use Lightwave and Milkshape as well.
Wow, can wait for it to be released!
Nice swords, there really looking great!
Wow look at the detail in those models, great job!
 WOW  .... again
Great looking swords! I'm not sure if this was already answered, I couldn't see it anywhere, but in the opening post it says new duel and ffa maps maps and a storyline following LOTR. My question is will this be a MP only Mod or will there be an SP campaign following the 3 movies/books also?
Real cool stuff!
As of right now, it's an MP only mod.
Those swords/daggers looking incredible. Both the model and the skin really help bring out the likeness from the movie. I definitely will download this mod when its finished;)
Thanks, Andy.
Say, it wouldn't be possible to have a news blurb put up on the JK.net home page about our little mod here, would it?
Just something that mentions our website and a screenshot or two would be great, if it can be managed. :D
