Some people just don't let bad things die....

It's looking great, Kengo. The only suggestions I have are to add something to break up that grassy slope leading into the river, maybe some plants underwater also. Other than that, it looks nearly perfect IMO.

Now, it is time for this thread to die. 'Night all.

Nym, you started the flaming, you carried it on and you've finished with it - you're still bad mouthing Wedge and Eldritch, I think Tito or anyone else on the Map-Review forums would dispute the utter rubbish you are saying about them insulting anyone, that simply isn't true.

I really must appologise to everyone else for how this thread has degenerated into someone badmouthing me and a load of other people with (IMO) hardly any provocation. I will leave this thread as evidence for the moderators to decide upon as they will, I'm not going to post on this thread again, consider it dead. I'll re-open the WIP on these forums hopefully on a new thread soon. Goodnight Vienna.

Possibly, if manuscripts so dictate. I haven't read all the scripts written (why? Oh, why? I'm doing my part in mapping, yet I've been kept out :( ). It would also be natural to return the characters to some spots, like the CorSec HQ, much like Jaden kept going back to the dusty, old rusty Academy in the original SP. However, I cannot confirm that. Still, I have the Terrain and World files on my hard disk, and nothing prevents just modifying the sun parametres and could layers to give different times of the day (why, I could do even night time with Universe).

Uh. In the end, it's all up to Kengo. He's the director.

Wow.. it looks like its moving along nicely! The screenshots are really really nice... and the ad thingy is annoying. Too many people make huge screenshots, and then that ad gets in the way, its even worse for text... then you cant read it all.

It doesnt need to be locked... how would you like it if you were working on a project and some guy started an argument and it got closed? Kengo is just trying to post about his project, and get some feedback... it doesnt need to be closed.

Kengo has far more right to think that this thread is awful than you do, Nym. He has already decided to let it die and be revived at some later time. Why can't you just let it go?

For the rest of you, who actually care about the status of this projet and wish to make constructive criticisms of it, check out the map-review.com showcase thread, which has been updating regularly and looks like Kengo's best mapping work yet: http://map-review.ravencommunity.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=366)

Most of these people are n00bs? Let's see!

Kengo: Nope. He's been mapping for quite a while now, and keeps improving. Anything but a n00b. More like a good mapper.

mace_sundancer: No idea, actually.

Alexi Vocheski: Definitely NOT a n00b. This guy gives about the best comments around!

mercenary: Did someone say "Dash rendar: Resurgence"?

idontlikegeorge: Very helpful mapper, who knows his stuff.

gothicX: I've been mapping since the early days of Quake 3, wouldn't quite consider myself a n00b. To the community? perhaps. To mapping? No way in hell.

Tesla: Very constructive comments.

DarkLord60: Well, AOTC:TC says it all.

lukeskywalker1: This guy is so good at scripting, I'd make him a statue.

Nym: No comment.

lassev: Maker of "Project Lighthouse". That says about all of it.

wedge2211: Mapreviewer at Map-Review.com, leader of the Cult of the Patch, various other praises that come to mind.

Toonces: Like I need to mention him.

Neverhoodian: Don't really know him, so I won't comment.

The Cheat: Gives about the best constructive criticism possible.

Business_Eskimo: Hey, he knows his stuff well!

That's all. Please apologise to everyone on this thread you called a n00b. Expecially Kengo. Also, take back your insults towards Eldritch, he's a damn fine mapper, and there is absolutely no need at all to insult him.

YOU'RE getting aggravated?? GOTHICX isn't welcome??? Good GRIEF. Let this thread die, why don't you, now that you've single-handedly turned it into a flame war...

Quit calling people "n00bs." GothicX has certainly demonstrated that his abilities are far beyond the "newbie" level, and Kengo might not have the most stellar mapping abilities (I can assure you they are getting infinitely better and a pretty fast rate), but his scripting is NOT "n00bish," nor is his imagination in inventing storylines. And you use the term insultingly when the best you have to show is a randomly-generated GenSurf terrain and a rancor NPC.

Your original criticism ("four words: BOXY BOXY BOXY BOXY" or something like that) was hardly constructive. CONSTRUCTIVE criticism tells people how to BUILD on what they've got (hence the term, constructive), it doesn't just shout out apparent flaws and provide no suggestions on how to deal with them.

Now I AM forced to agree with you on one count: this thread needs to be locked or deleted. It has proven useless except for revealing you to be as bad as your brother, if you are not in fact Casper yourself. You, and this thread, have become one of the worwst insults to Kengo's work that I have ever seen, and he doesn't deserve this. So leave it alone! Do not post back! Let this thread go away! It's disrespectful, insulting, and pointless. I will not look in here again.
