My favorite to look at would be the AT ATs. I love the way it looks when 10 of them are tramping toward the enemy base. I rather wish they had a melee attack. I'm sure there are game balance reasons why they don't but the fearsome thing about them in...  [Read More]

Actually, after typing that I just thought of a much better one. First: Build a decent defense until you reach Tech-4. I assume everyone knows how to do this by now. Second: Do all the researches to maximize the trooper-building speed. There's the...  [Read More]

If you have all the upgrades the troops are remarkably quick. The cheaper, invisible Jedi would seem to make them an attractive option too. Build a shield wall at a choke point and instead of putting turrets behind it or a fortress, put a group of f...  [Read More]

Select all the troops and put them into different groups. Click on the staggered formation for each one and then click on the button that makes them stay put when attacked. You want the troopers in front, the STAPs and the tanks in back and then th...  [Read More]

That's funny because whenever I play against TF it builds dozens of Command Centers. They take the place of 3 or 4 houses, so you'd think it would work out. TF builds houses in the Gungan Campaign. I don't know if it needs them but they're there. C...  [Read More]

They'd be better off building anything else. The power core by itself doesn't do anything. A troop center, even an unpowered one, causes a little havoc and I think costs less. And why does it build so many command centers right next to each other? I...  [Read More]

If you beat the computer to tech 3 really fast and get a fortress up or if you play starting at tech 3 or tech 4 the Bothan Spynet is really cheap right at the beginning. Even if it's 1000 nova, if you have 1000 nova you should buy it. I think it's i...  [Read More]

I take the Jedi masters behind the lines in air transports. I usually send 4 masters and one medic. I send fighters along to escort them. When I get back there I send them in a mass group over to turn a turret if one is available and hide inside it....  [Read More]

It also depends on where you set the resources. I've lately been playing with High resources because it's more fun at the beginning. If you do that you can hit tech-2 really soon and tech-3 within about 15 minutes and still maintain a level of defens...  [Read More]

Chessack, thanks for that tip. I never noticed the Orders box before. Very helpful. I've had the computer give me a lot of resources before, I think when it decides it's not going to do any more upgrades it frees up some resources and so gives them...  [Read More]

Has anyone ever had a computer ally tribute them? It's never happened to me, my ally usually just yells for help and calls for attacks. Sometimes, frankly, they appear to just sit there....  [Read More]

I played a 1 on 1 on Endor, small map the other day on Hard vs. the computer. I was Empire vs. the computer's Rebels. It put us on opposite sides of the map, and separated us with trees. There was no contact until I built an airbase. I sent over thr...  [Read More]

If you want to be picky about it I imagine the number is 200. Say you can have 40 units in a group. We'll call it group One. If those units are Heavy Assault Mechs they can each hold 12 units IIRC. You can assign 40 units to "Guard" each...  [Read More]

Yeah, that's what the tip in the manual says to do. I just seem to have more luck with the farms. It seems like 50 carbon isn't too much unless I'm playing Trade Federation, and it seems quicker to farm than forage....  [Read More]

This is getting off-topic, but what do you think of farms? I'm finding I do better when I build farms right off the bat rather than try to forage first. Some maps vary, of course, but farms appear at least to be faster than the bushes and fishing. T...  [Read More]

1) If you're playing the Galactic Empire the probots are just as good at scouting if not better than the scout mechs. They're also cheaper. Don't bother building scout mechs. 2) Don't destroy enemy spaceports. If you have multiple opponents, keep th...  [Read More]

Of course if they fight each other too well, it's not much fun. I played one game as Royal Naboo allied with Wookies against TF and Empire. Standard 2 on 2. Wookies beat me to tech-3 then while I was setting up my defensive strategy they went and r...  [Read More]

I feel your pain, SirKai. This happened to me recently as well in a 4 way 4 team game. I played the Wookies vs. the TF, Empire and Gungans. Well the Gungans didn't seem to ever do anything, while the TF and Empire just continually beat on me. The las...  [Read More]

I have little use for pummels, they're too slow and cannons, along with Heavy Artillery and guarded by some strike mechs make for a better attack force. Cannons do have less armor and fewer hit points. If you're concerned about your cannons getting...  [Read More]

This has never happened to me. Were you guys at tech 4 or still at tech 3? I've had the computer beat me with a tech 3 rush but usually it was two allied computer players ganging up on me. Usually one-on-one I might get an invisible jedi or a single...  [Read More]

SirKai, That's not quite what I said, or at least not what I meant. I build lots of troops to defend before I get a fortress up. Once I build a fortress, however, I stop building Troop Center units, at least for the Empire and TF. I probably am vul...  [Read More]
I agree that the turret rush is a cheap shot. I pretty much use turrets only for defense and only in groups. Here's my basic offensive strategy. I don’t build ships, pummels, mounted troops, anti-air troops, or anti-air mobiles. If I’m playin...  [Read More]
I have only played against the computer so my strategy is entirely based on that. Against a human this probably wouldn't work as well. First of all it doesn't matter how many opponents I'm playing, if I can't see any food right away I start to build...  [Read More]

Well, this thread is older than the hills but if anyone cares my strategy was to build three Anti-Air towers, two power cores and two shield generators that both covered the center. I kept two workers handy to do repairs in case they ever damaged it,...  [Read More]
