I have to agree with Silent Thunder on this.
I have a friend that works at LucasArts and he is staying very quiet as to when the demo will come out. In fact he wouldn't even tell me if it was pre-release or not, or any other information about the game.
I did recieve word though, that they have been instructed to remain tight-lipped about any release dates or specifics about games or suffer strict disciplinary actions. This all came about because of prior leaks (false and true) that led to release dates that they couldn't meet. (one time they were still in level development stage).
But if I'm wrong (which I sincerely hope I am) then I apologize in advance.

If it is a level form the game, it will probablly be a early one so it wont give away the plot.

Because its fair to say that the people at Raven aren't stupid enough to put out a demo that gives away a chunk of the plot of the game.
I WILL buy the game, LucasArts won't lose on it, because the multiplayer does not work in this version anyway (some strange error) so I will buy the game so I can play multiplayer.
So, LucasArts is not losing. :)
EDIT: Let me explain more... Before I'll get banned, I want to say WHY I want to buy it, because anyone could say that and they still could get it burned from a friend.
I am one of those guys who always does it the clean way, I just MUST have the cd's, that's the only way I'll experience the game, if I play some non bought version, it will feel like I'm playing some cracked illegal buggy game. That feels dirty.
It feels cleaner if I buy it, so, you get the point. No one is losing on it (in my case)
From what I know, he's partially correct. It's apparently just a single player level.

It mioght be my slow computer but i checked the site formy first time today (yes i check it several times a day, i don't care if i'm a nerd) and i saw the big demo in white letters but nothing below it! lets hope that this means it's very soon (of course my computer may just be screwed up)

He's talking about the "downloads" section, where it says DEMO. Under that it says "A demo will be released in the coming weeks..."

i'm not completely sure but I'd guess that if the demo is released on the 3rd then it'll be around 6PM EST. So it'll be late for you guys in the UK likely. But that's only a guess.

Maybe. The Battlefield 1942: Secret Weapons Demo was supposed to be released at 6PM in the US, and i got it a few hours after that. So perhaps it'll be the same for JA. I hope.

If it was a hoax it did incredibly well. I guess its the pre-release hype.
But Raven isn't the one authorized to put out the demo, they are just the makers. LucasArts is the one that owns everything in the game. It is up to them when to put out the demo and what to put in it. So you still have a while to go, plus you have to have the people there to upload the approx 200+MB file to the servers and then put out the word...
So I wouldn't be looking for it just yet, especially since we don't even know that today IS the day that the demo comes out.. The 3rd was only speculation based on a so-called insider. For all we know we could be wasting our time if the demo comes out Friday or Saturday.
Besides, who said that the demo had to be put out right at midnight, since the 3rd of September lasts for 24 hours and its midnight in CA, so they still have 23 more hours AT LEAST if the demo would be out today.
Well, At least I still have the Homeworld 2 demo to look forward too. It WILL be out Tommorow....er Today.
EA put up a timer when the Battlefield 1942 : Secret Weapons demo was released. I think LEC should have done that, it would stop any rumours.
