My fave would be my customized Starfury "borrowed" from the Babylon 5 TC, except that it has no weapons hardpoints. :( I'm also kinda fond of many of the ships from the NCA patch. It's too bad no one seems to be making opts these days; I...  [Read More]

Phase 2 Troopers don't bug me. It's the phase 1 versions that look like walking, dessicated corpses as they run up to you that freak me out. Most of them are blaster-proof; they're ray-shielded, so you'll have to rely on heavier weapons. The Conc ri...  [Read More]

Actually, it did have a point. Not so much the sex itself, but the bandit's seduction of the princess was a major plot point. I admit that it was pretty clumsily done, editing-wise, but where else could it have gone in the movie? I guess it's just...  [Read More]

I see someone else familiar with Star Trek: Invasion. Which Valkyries were you talking about, the type Is, IIs, or IIIs? Personally, I like the Type I ship. Valkyrie mark II looks like it was built by klingons, and the mark III just looks bi...  [Read More]

For the same reason that (some) people write SF; sometimes it's impossible to comment on something from a certain perspective. Swinging us back on-thread, that's the purpose of the aliens in Star Trek. They're not intended to be realistic civilizati...  [Read More]

Another cool old SF series was Battlestar Galactica, as long as you ignore the second season (Galactica 1980), in which the writers turned the story into "aliens among us" (on Earth of all places). The first season (with the byplay between...  [Read More]

No, y'see that's the point. Luke (and anyone else watching) would have thought the Outrider was destroyed. They had no way of knowing that Dash managed to make the hyperspace jump just before the explosion hit them....  [Read More]

JKII, because Rogue Leader won't be as cool as XWA (which you can edit). BTW, 500 posts is nothing. Over on XWA.net, you're awarded a ceremonial Big Guy Mask (BGM) at 600 posts, then you get parties at every following 1000 (and you may end up with a...  [Read More]

Can't comment on Final Conflict 'cause I don't watch it (various reasons; I just don't really care), but Andromeda is the first SF show I've seen in years that's actually well-thought out. The aliens are aliens; unlike in Star Trek where all the ali...  [Read More]

My only real complaint about Star Trek is the execution. Star Trek has some great ideas, and lots of awesome story potential, but the only series that actually lived up to that potential (IMHO) was DS9. Just my $0.02....  [Read More]
