The Eclipse was'nt around until Dark Empire, and the Lancet never existed until FoC came out. Yet they are here. So I fail to see your reasoning about the later cruisers....  [Read More]

Ok i just played the GC map Gateway's as the Empire (on Medium). I first defended my entry points a bit then started buidling a lvl 5 space station and in not too much time i established my galactic bases on all planets, and had the Executor and the...  [Read More]

Having played online now, my suspicion has come true: Battles in EAW GC are not decided by units, but by heroes and towers. In a regular GC scenarion you'll start with few units, buildings and money. However, immediately from the beginning you'll hav...  [Read More]

I'm playing that one right now QuestGAV. Thank you. Slocket, that sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. That scenario would make me a very happy camper. I just can't get into the ZC at all. I think they could have used Jabba/Talon Karrde/Xizor...  [Read More]

Maybe nerfing the Consortium cruisers is the answer to the balance problems... That's quite possible. Thing is, the rebels appear to have recieved the most nerfs, and there was a feeling that nothing was going to be toned down. I certainly don't r...  [Read More]

I strongly disagree, there should be NO changes to the Mon Cal's! They work just fine, besides they aren't supposed to be super-strong. They are outfitted luxury cruisers, not battleships... I'm sick of hearing this argument. Yes, it works great fo...  [Read More]

These sound like a good list of changes. The A-Wing in particular should be much more worthy - it's sounds more like the dogfighting nightmare that it's supposed to be. The business about Mass Driver losing accuracy against fighters is a godsend. Ex...  [Read More]

Actually, if you had played the Star Wars flight sims, you'd know that the Interdictor cruisers there had the ability to carry a small amount of starfighters. It was even capable to take a few punches, facing other medium-sized capital ships, though...  [Read More]

Interdictor sucks as we all know it. They have one big use though. When you have already won the game, and that annoying annoying enemy are popping around your planets prolonging his death, its time to build that Interdictor or two to finish them onc...  [Read More]

Not absolutely worthless, but worthless in most situations. I have noticed that trying an orbital strike to temporarily stun those anti-air defenses in the direct path of the incoming bomber strike is highly useful. If you are tired of watching str...  [Read More]

It would be good, and I suspected that they disrupt production/upgrades at a facility hit by them for a good length of time. That would make sense and make up for not blowing the building to a zillion bits like a TL would. You cant produce any units...  [Read More]

But there were tons of factories that were destroyed by Zaarin, and so they had to match his tie-d's and kept even most of the avengers off the front lines. Just avengers would have evened it a lot. If they hadn't been learning, they wouldn't have ev...  [Read More]

No no no, my impression is that at the higher tech levels, imps having good fighters would fit, since if they *could* have gotten more to the frontlines, they would have started to turn the tables on the rebels, but all the defenders/avengers were ta...  [Read More]

I didn't mean their strategy, but more of an equalization at the end. Most of my impressions come from the x-wing series, but I thought that if they'd gotten more tie avengers and defenders out they would have at least neutralized the rebel advantage...  [Read More]

It didn't shift. The rebels were heavily reliant on fighters for virtually all of the war. Which means the rebel's fighters should be better than the empires, while their cruisers will obviously be less potent than imperial equivalents. Oh hang on...  [Read More]

I only used the broadsides in GC. I will try hitting the mass drivers and plasmas straight off as I tend to go for the hangar first. I have preferred to stop their supply of blastboats as quickly as I can. The ZC is not a problem until they get tech...  [Read More]

Ooooh, okay, no I don't have the expansion (yet) so that would explain it. I would take what they are saying with a pinch of salt. No-one has actually said that an 2nd expansion is on the way, merely hinting that there's going to be a sequel is mean...  [Read More]

Mon Calamari cruisers should be weaker than Imperial Star Destroyers, but should be faster and more maneuverable. The fact that ISDs were built as dedicated warships does mean they will be superior to a starliner at approximately the same technology...  [Read More]

Rust_Lord's point about dedicated warships versus converted liners is an excellent one. ImpStar's should totally blow Mon Cal's out of space in one-on-one matches just based on that fact. Bad quote. Ackbar was outnumbered at least 10-1 when he said...  [Read More]

@ TearsofIsha's post: DooD I strongly disagree. A converted liner, even a great one will be inferior to a dedicated warship. The design of a Mon Cal was clearly inferior to the ISD as a warship not just because the Empire has unrestricted access to t...  [Read More]
