This is slightly off topic, but a part of Star Wars history that hasn't been visted at any point - in the movies, video games, comic books, or novels - is the founding of the Republic....  [Read More]

In regards to Lucas and the post-RotJ time frame I have a few things to say. 1. The Prequel triology is better than the Originals. Yes, I know most of you are old farts but really, A New Hope and Return of the Jedi are far worse than The Phantom Men...  [Read More]

Napoleanic?? Howso? We don't see him crafting any revolutionary liberal law codes, nor did he become a dictator (ironically) in the name of liberty. Besides his Sith conspiracies, he was your run-of-the-mill wartime demagogue, who used people's fear...  [Read More]

The Clone Wars pretty much "ended" when Palpatine was ready for it to end. But there was a definate end to it -before- the Republic became the New Order. I assume that the (Republic) campaign would end in the same manner as the movies: the...  [Read More]

Well, the fact of the matter is, the man can't write dialogue or plot. What his strength is, and always was, was directing, and imagining the raw concepts of his world. These are the reasons that the original trilogy ruled, and the prequel trilogy wa...  [Read More]

I simply look at it this way: I'm confident in all the other aspects. Strange as it sounds, my OCD about trivial matters like ship destruction is a testament to my affirmation that the solid core aspects of the game will pan out just fine. I'm also...  [Read More]

Well whadya know, you are dead on, sir: "All of our capital ships have unique destruction states." Now, granted, the scene in which he said that still had Calimari Cruisers and Correlian Corvettes simply exploding in that non-chalant BOOM...  [Read More]

This is simply what I've observed from what little video footage is available: When Imperial Star Destroyers are destroyed, we see a breathtakingly gorgeous destruction scene where smaller explosions ripple through the vessel, leading up to a larger...  [Read More]

No, but implicit in his comment is that something needs to be complex for the game to be top-notch. Otherwise, he wouldn't have bothered citing the need for something to be compensated....  [Read More]

Not necessarily true. For example, the Empire and Rebels have completely different systems of intelligence-gathering: the Rebels have a ubiquitous spy network, effectively making every Imperial movement on the Galaxy Map transparent. The Empire is pr...  [Read More]

Are you saying that we would have to have a direct resource harvesting aspect for the game to be strategic? Maybe yes, maybe no, but it would be like practically every other RTS that's ever been made. These Petro guys want to depart from that cliche,...  [Read More]

Exactly. One of the most intriguing macro features this game has is the presence of trade routes/hyperspace lanes. Sort of like in SW: Rebellion, you can send fleets to any particular planet, -from- any particular planet. This will take a grievous a...  [Read More]

Where did you see the Death Star destroy capital ships? I did not see this. A Rebel ship explodes, but this could have easily been caused by Imperial capital ships, TIE Fighters, etc. I saw no green superlaser. That whole graphic glitch with a world...  [Read More]

I wouldn't be so sure. We have a "cutscene mode" we can access in the midst of an actual battle, and I'm sure the Rebels will have their classic trench run tactic to counter Death Stars, so why -wouldn't- you be able to see your valiant X-W...  [Read More]
