Post your comments. I love it. I love that new banner as well. I as a cable modem user have no complaints. But there are a lot of links to click to get to a desired location. Although, that would give the user fewer pics on one page? Never mind, I guess it's alright for them as well.

I did this cause it is butting in on Lundiquists soundtrack feedback. Which I thought to be superb, one of the greatest things ever involving Dark Forces. That and the demo were spectacular!!!

Oh, right, this is for the site...

The long navigation "problem" you state only really becomes an issue when looking at the screenshots section - I felt it was far too crowded on the old site having them all over 3 pages - especially the levels section. I was a 56k user when I designed the site (ISDN user now) so I actually designed and optimized the site for a modem user. I think most prefer to navigate a couple of pages first, rather than waiting five minutes for an image heavy page to load.

I love the new design. I'm pretty use to sites that has a lot of pages, so it doesn't really bother me.

Looking at the new screenshots of the Dark Trooper ph. 1, where you can also see it from behind, I can now see how intimidating it really looks. (phase 1 always scared me more than phase 2)

The site has really grown on me One. It is very nice. Great Job!

I have a suggestion for the top links, if I may. It's a rather new LF member's site dedicated to Kyle Katarn.

Have a look! (most of its down, due to the fact he redid the style, alot better than how it was, so I guess the delay is worth it)

Note there is a submit link button in the links section of the site. The most popular links, it works out and they appear as top links. Same with the downloads. Funky, eh?

I've been targeted by the Kyle Katarn fansite several times for a banner exchange program - as much as I'd like to, we really don't have the room for any more banners. But I'll go ahead and add the site to the links section :)

Pity about the banners. I just saw them after reading your post. They are nicely done. Well, let's all hope the site is up soon.

I can't seem to find the .plan's anywhere since the redesign. Are you guys still doing them? I enjoyed reading them. Thanks.

Yeah, I should have explained this.

Basically, there are no .plans as such with this new design. As you can see, the old team page is back - albeit with a different layout.

The .plans, could never be integrated into a php site really, and I wanted to keep everything within the main core of the site - no links going off to different scripts etc. like the old design. So, the solution is simple, and, I'm hoping will work out better than the .plans.

As you can see, on the news in the new site there is an icon saying "Website Update" - this is one news category of many. If you go to "Search News" you can see all these topics - there are things such as levels, models, textures etc. Basically every single member of the team - who wants one - will have a news account. They will post whenever they want under the relevant category. So, essentially they can post whatever they used to under the .plans - but it will all be contained on one news page under helpful categories.

I'm going to be giving out the accounts in the next few days or so, and we'll see how things go from there.

I see... so by default, do we only see "web site updates"? Are we required to click into a different catagory to see posts by other team members?

No, you don't have to click anything - everything will appear on one page - though I believe you maybe able to configure it to suit you.

oh cool, sounds similar to what the Gundam Universe team (link in my sig) does. each member has a "developer journal" that they can update with whatever whenever they want. good idea.
