Problems exporting to XSI... it doesn't export!!

It looks as if, but once I try to re-import it from the XSI file, it says:

"Improper file format"

And my question is:

Is it completely necesary to skin the model before exporting?

Skin as in making the actual skin or unwrapping the model? Also, I thought you were using gmax, and I didn't think you could export to XSI with it

Ah, my mistake. I'm pretty sure you can skin it after it's been exported and in game as long as it has the coordinates. Have you weighted the model yet?

Hehe, I haven't gotten this far in the model-making process yet, so I'm not sure what the problem could be really, but I went ahead and added you.

Are you planning on doing facial animations? With the proximity of the mouth to the facial bones, it looks like it would be doable (similar to how it's handled on Desann).

I'm fed up and willing to give out to anyone willing (again) to UVmap it. Of course, as a member of the Oxygen team, they will have preference (if more than one candidate arises), but i doubt it.
