that page is on my favourites now ;)
Personally I don't like thoise sheap push and slash scripts, but I see no problem with automating combos and such..
btw, anyone with any good ideas which keys to use for bidning, i am using the wadx keys for movement not the arrow ones and I need quick heys to use for some scripts? any ideas? Don't want to change default mp game ones since i'm used to them..?
Nice! I know a lot of scripts from Q3, but are too lazy to find em on my own. I don't need any "cheats" per say, but if I find a script that can make life easier, then I'm all for it (cleen screenshots, switching to punching, slicing and dicing enemies, and etc...).
What I want to know, is how to get the game to look better!! I've been trying to find console commands to get decals and bodies to not dissapear! The commands in Q3, don't work in JO. So if anyone knows how to get the game to be more realistic, please let me know!!!!

Hi all,
I've still not been able to get the backstab or spinning backstab moves to work. The exact move I mean is when someone is behind you and you press back and attack, causing a quick 'backstab' in blue mode and a 'spinning slash' move in yellow and red mode. I would like to be able to execute this move with no one near me (ie not reliant on the prescense of another player to trigger the move)
the only bind I've tried successfully is the light lunge move bind posted on this thread '"+movedown;+forward+attack" this version has no 'wait' or '-' commands in it and it seems to work everytime.

Why do you noobs play the game at ALL? A simple "win" key would be enough, then the old monkey island "you've won" message, and off you go to play something else.
Thats like a kickboxing game with nukes, one button does the job.
As if 1.03 wouldn't have made it easy enough already for you illiterates to spam with guns AND instakill with the saber.
Go back to playing quake, I'm sure you're using a script for rocketjumping there as well.
this is getting ridiculous

Those moves are triggered by proximity to another person or bot. You cant do them in thin air. Loading up a bot to practice them on is the only way.

Why not:
q, e, s, z, c, r, f, v and so on....
These are the closest keys to your movement keys.
unless your using a different language keyboard... (thats another story. lol)

Why do you come in here to bitch.
moan, moan, moan.
Stop crying like a baby.
I'm sick fed up of the these people who come in this thread to moan.
What does the thread name say... "Scripts Here"
Nothing to do with people like you.
*thought*
Maybe if these people keep moaning we'll get our own area in the forums.

On second thoughts... keep moaning lol. its sometimes funny to hear.
ah, finally. someone with a complete knowledge of scripting, willing to share with everyone. usually when you ask someone how they did the spinning backstab or some other scripted move they'd get on their throne and laugh at the "ignorant n00b". i'm glad this probably wont happen anymore.
to those of you complaining about JaraDaj and others showing us how to script these moves, i'd love to hear an explanation on why it's better for only a few people to act l33t and know these moves, rather than having these resources available to everyone.
and to anyone still arguing about the fact that using scripts require no skill, let me point out that all the moves needed for winning on your average duel/ffa server arent that hard to pull off and master in the first place. and unless you can knock down your opponent in front of you all the time or have an extremely low ping, scripts like the spinning/180є backstab and kick could actually lower your chances of successfully doing the move.

JO Scripting (

I always thought that scripting was the most ¤&%/&%/&"/&(/(%"% thing in the game (still do). But you guys have showed me that it is so simple, and given me the means to counter them (script-end delays). Thanks ya'll
Still don't like all that bull with scripting though. Not very funny to play well on a duel server and then meet a scripter who does a 4576MpH bs at some point when you think you have him, killing you instantly.
:mob:
Hey, i agree with Keeper 100%... but scripting is here... and can't be ignored. I'm a firm believer of sharing knowledge. IT's free, and should always be free. Can you imagine if Einstien didn't share what he knew?
I'm getting back into the game, so i'm gonna script some more. Got a lan party this weekend so i'll see what ideas i come up with watchng others play. As always, questions or comments are welcomed in this thread.
As for those who don't like it, that's cool. I don't like ice cream...... My point is, it's good to voice an opinion, at the very least it'll keep this thread bumped on the first page.
Anyone else want to share?
I've got a lan party too this weekend.
Thats a good idea to get ideas from the other players playin.
I agree. For me, it's a way to learn. I haven't played online with them. I just try them out by myself to see if they work & then delete em.
It's gotta be about the timing.Look you DFA on someone,You miss.YOu DFA with the scripts, shorter time in doing the move.Do a backsweep. To lazy to click the back attack button eh?Well, you suck.I do hope someone makes atleast on hack that changes their username so you can screw a person using scripts.Lunge.See the differene in time?Crouch+foaward+attack.Scripts, press on button.CHEAP?YES!
Wait a second...THere was this guy non-stop pushing me.Maybe he was using a script that does non-stop pushing.
If you see a person with the name of GAYASSMOTHERBITCHASS****ERGETALIFEJOBANDAWIFE,PLEA SE KILL HIM AND TRHOW HIM TO HIS DOOM!Actually, his name is bAbY.He is 2 and a-half yrs old and does non-stop pushing.
hehe i'd just like to make a comment. Regardless, of what everyone thinks, this is the moat read thread in the MP forum, therefore, one must assume most people MUST be INTERSTED.
Hmm none of the red stance scripts here seem to work, the wait *number* thing also produces an error, I decided to make my own set of scripts that default on the blue stance and hava a variety of moves for the red stance.
Btw that spinning script works very well, though it really makes the fact you're using a script very obvious, but perfect for clustered quarells.
I wanna make a script in red stance where you have to face someone, you press the key, you spin 180 degress, do a back stab then do the spinning thingy.
I still have no idea how to kick? What do you actually do lol?
Has anyone thought of making some sort of script that works with guns?
Oh and last but not least, how do I make the guy spin a set amount of degrees? lol

I'm working on a red stance, 180 degree turn and backsweep then the spin... it's hard to get the timing and not alot of people will stand still long enough for me to do it, I test everything i can online so i know it works, if i'm not sure i'll say so.

To kick someone you have to move in thier direction, when you are near them tap jump 2 times. A good way to practice is doing the kick flip off a wall. If you can do that you can kick someone, they must be either in front or on the side, can't kick em if your back is toward them.

I have been thinking of a script for the sniper gun, and rocket launcher. When zoomed in, hit attack1 once to do a full charge, then hit again to fire. I hate having to hold it down. Another one is for the rocket launcher, hit attack2 till you can get a lock then hit it again to shoot the heat seeker.

In the script i made, it's just a toggle, so i got used to controlling the spin at will. It's not safe to do it the other way, since scripting with any sort of timing means you will have to use waits in the script. Which means you are stuck doing that script till it's done, meaning as you start you spin, you can't do anything till it's done. With the toggle you can stop it anytime, and go to the next guy. But if you want it to spina few times then you will have to change the script a bit... have to add waits. I'll see if i can make something up in to show you what it would look like. Gotta get some sleep so i'll post it sunday.
Jara, your script for DFA doesen't work in v1.03.
Could anyone post a script for it and maybe for the axe chop? (I would write these scrips on my own if I knew how to perform the moves!)
The Axe chop is: forward, backward, stationary+attack
but I cannot do it....... :(
Well, for the DFA, what exactly is the ratio in variable numbers for the wait command when compared to actual RL seconds?

I know that they're triggered by proximity to another player/bot, but what I meant was, what is the command triggered? If there was some way to isolate this sequence, then it could be scripted and then put into combos etc.
I'm surprised my crouching 2 handed backsweep did not make it, much less the backstab/sweep in general. I mean, it is just...
bind (key) "+back;+attack"
Add +movedown; before +back for the 2 hander.
whats the bind for a screenshot?
I'm having trouble getting this scripts to work, namely the 3 or so scripts in the original post of this thread by Jara.
Anywho, how do I implement them?
I've tried the DFA script - opened up the jk2mp config in wordpad and edited R to bind R "exec dfa.cfg" and when I do it in game it just messes up. One time i tried it and the attack got stuck and it kept slashing and there was nothing i could do.
Could one of you experts please incorporate the main scripts into and autoexec.cfg so all I have to do is plonk it into the base directory please?!
Thanks for any help in advance. :)
All you do is put them in your autoexec.cfg file.... . DO NOT put them in the JK2mp.cfg file, or you will regret it. You can bind it in the autoexec.cfg file too.
Sample autoexec.cfg
----------------------------
set cycle "saberAttackCycle; wait 2"
bind L "vstr cycle"
Hey . . . . well does anyone know why people win sabre locks so easily? Are they using a script or what, I just seem to never be able to compete against lots of people. I dont know maybe im to slow at clicking to even win. Well laterz
Would it be possible to bind the mousewheel click (yes, pressing down on the mousewheel) so that you do the medium (yellow) special move where you flip over?

Hi.
I'm new to JKII and I just registered in this forum.
Concerning scripts, I think adding an option to disable them would solve the problems their causing. That way scripters could still have fun while not spoiling others games. This would end the flames too.
However this idea doesn't seem to be any new, but the only arguments on the scripters side I've seen are "That's part of the game". I'm not familiarized with the Q3 engine but I'm sure that disabling the introduction of commands on the console, from the user, isn't that hard to accomplish...
I've just tried some scripts and I must say it adds a whole new depth to the game, but if things remain how they are, with time everyone we'll see online is using them, and those who cant or don't want to will slowly quit from the game because they can't have a fair fight anymore.
On a side note. JaraDaj, I'm confused on where you stand on this issue because, as you said, the sooner this stuff comes out the sooner they'll patch it.
I'm done :p
Cheers
Rad Blackrose:
I'll add the other scripts to my page
Last Post:
You cannot disable client bind options from a server.
+ you wouldn't be able to change the default keys if Raven disabled this in game.
Just wanted to say thanks to you guys for giving me some insight on scripting. I won't use it in game but it's good to know what to look for, and how to do it.
I was in a CTF game yesterday and a guy started doing these funky break-dancing moves so we all got together and started spinning around...breakin!.... Try it:
Use the spin script from the first page of this post.... go into a tuck and forward roll and when your on your head, hit the spin key. Make sure someone gets a SS of you... I missed mine yesterday...
Anyway, have fun...

I'm all for scripting, but some commands should have never accessable. Scripting is a way to even the ground for those of us who are smart but lack eye hand skills. For others it's a form of expression, and still others it's a way to expand thier minds in a subject that they like, ie the game. Yet some use it to win, and onl win. But the way the game was made, script or no script, anyone with skill can win.
As of now, the only script i use is the spin script, for emergencies and/or freaking people out. I'm just waiting for them to patch the commands that are too powerful (ie yaw_speed) and maybe add a few more. I'd like to beable to bind to -/+ of a button. That would bring new options.
On a side note, i found an interesting "bug" in the game. You can use secondary fire on the rocket launcher and try to lock on to someone, as you hold it down, switch weapons. Sooner or later you will get a lock on the target (if they are still alive) and you can return to the rocket launcher and fire. This in a script would allow the user to get a lock without leaving themselves open, ie they can still fight back with another gun or saber and switch back to the rocket launcher when they want to fire the locked rocket. Very interesting....

Check in the first few pages of this thread, there are some ways, with the help of a script, to win saber locks.

As for the avatar... it's really the only good looking pic of a female i had to choose from. I'll change it for you when i get my digital camera working and put myself in it's place. Just for you *kisses*
My site has changed to the following address

Very little has been updated apart from a few added scripts...
I have very little time right now to be doing webmaster s*** as well as everything else.
(Expect a new look and auto insert of you scripts around september time.)

1- JaraDaj's avatar is actually Lyn Me, from RotJ SE.
2- Yes, she is that hot
3- So what if she's an alien, she's still hot
4- The character is imaginary, the actress isn't
This threads been pretty helpful. It helped me script a monologue taunt, which was a big mistake I later found out. Still fun though :D . There were about eight seperate messages with wait counts of around 200 between each, so they go slow enough to be read. I found out when using the final version though that you can't move when it's activated, and I was in a duel at the time. Whoops :o . Good thing we were on duel_jedi, and I was in the container thing and my opponent was outside waiting.
Yes you are cheating if you use these scripts. If you cant do it your damn self with the controls given and need to resort to this you suck nuts. Please let them stop this crap.

heh, stop and think before you say something Cognito. I'm using the same controls everyone else is, except mine is in a different combination than yours. While you look no farther than the setup screen in the game, i've looked beyond that with my imagination. Alas, i'm sure we will never meet so i can no more prove my skill than you can prove your point.
Thanks for the bump
The choices you are given in the setup screen should be all you use. If you need to put two or three moves together thats either lazy or cheating.
Its cool that youve figured out ways to manipulate the game, seriously that takes some knowledge. Using them to frag by skipping steps you make the game cheap. Its just my opinion of course. I think that you would maybe enjoy the challenge more if you took them out.
How ya like my new avatar.

I know there's got to be an easier way, but maybe
/bind X "+attack; +attack; +attack; +attack...etc"
Youd prob have to experiment to find the right number of attacks to throw in there though; and it would be hard because it will depend on your oppenent also. If you put 40 in there, expecting it to be a long duel, it would suck if your opponent is knocked down in 4 seconds and then you're stuck attacking another 30x :)

Try;
bind X "+attack; -attack; +attack; -attack; +attack; -attack; +attack; -attack; +attack; -attack; +attack; -attack; +attack; -attack; +attack; -attack; +attack; -attack; +attack; -attack; +attack; -attack; +attack; -attack; +attack; -attack; +attack; -attack; +attack; -attack; +attack; -attack; +attack; -attack; +attack; -attack; +attack; -attack; +attack; -attack; +attack; -attack; +attack; -attack; +attack; -attack; +attack; -attack"
This should stop when you release the button. So in a saberlock, hit it and hold it down. When you win or lose let the button go. Another alternative is to bind it to your mouse wheel, and just scroll... but most of us like to use mwheel for weapon switching.
Now you ask, why so many +/- attacks.... well you don't know how long the lock will be, better to have more than less, and if the script stops when you release the button, you won't be stuck till the script ends. Plus you will need the +attack, then a -attack. otherwise the server will think you haven't release the attack button, and just are holding it down. Remember;
+attack; +attack; +attack is the same as +attack
same goes for;
-attack; -attack; -attack is the same as -attack
PS. on a side not, sorry i never checked my PMs... didn't realize i had some :)
//an attack toogle
set "attacking" "vstr at1"
set "at1" "+attack; set "attacking" "vstr at2""
set "at2" "-attack; set "attacking" "vstr at1""
bind x "attacking"
Here is a toogle. press button once to start attacking.
once the lock is over press the button again to stop.
Question: I have used the Reborn Cycle & Saber Colors scripts in two different games I played but... Why can't I use them in the same game? Can you only have one script enabled at a time?

Replica~ here's a better way to write your script (as well as the very long one).
set change1 "model reborn 1;set change_reborn_skin vstr change2"
set change2 "model reborn/acrobat 2;set change_reborn_skin vstr change3"
set change3 "model reborn/boss 3;set change_reborn_skin vstr change4"
set change4 "model reborn/fencer 4;set change_reborn_skin vstr change1"
bind m vstr change_reborn_skin
What I did was I got rid of the bind statement in statements 1 through 4 and replaced them with set change_reborn_skin vstr vstrname. My reasoning behind doing this is to make it easier on you or whomever to rebind this script to a new key. If you keep your very long one the way it is and if you decide to remap it to another key then you would have to go through every line and make the change (Find & Replace work good here). But there's no need to do that. Once your script is working there shouldn't be any need to mess with it, even for binds. Just map a key for the general variable string. Try mine out and you'll see it works just as good as yours but mine is easier to remap.
