Actually, getting a lightsaber (in real life) to ignite isn't that difficult I think. (U'd have to hook it up to a powerplant, but ... :D )
The real trick is to get it to arc back to the handle. ;)

How tied together will you guys be? I mean, I've seen quite few 'pregame planned associations' not working as soon as the game hits the shelves...
Obviously, a safe haven (in form of a small settlement) would be nice. Especially since I am starting to plan a character that would suit such an environment. Who knows, the right answer might yield you a peacekeeping officer ;)
Yeah Mike, if you could ask Juztyn that would be much appreciated. And setsuko, I can't speak for everyone else and I obviously can't tell you what will definitly happen. I am dedicated to this idea, and from what I can tell so is everyone else. I really think it will work and that we will all benefit from it. Besides, what do you have to lose from signing up? at worst the group will fall apart, but at best you'll have a money pool backed up behind you that you can safely take loans from, deals on goods and a safe haven. it's a pretty good offer =).

Well, I read somewhere that a jedi has a better control of a lightsaber that he created himselve/herselve in SWG.

I was wondering...how about the server we will play on? Because there are probably multiple servers, and the PA members are from different countries, it can be a problem that is able to break the Associates right now.
I, for one will probably be playing on the European server because my provider kind of sux I need the best connection possible to play.
This is a problem that has been mentioned before. As of now, we really have no solution for it. Until we know more about the way the servers will work, we can't really decide on much. Once we learn more we can find a way to work around it, be it that we all play on the USA or Europe or whatever. If worst came to worst, then we could always just split the Associates into two branches of USA and Europe, but that's not my favorite option. We'll just have to wait and see.
im going to the US server.. i have already decided this :D... cause a lot of friends will be there.. and there you will have one language... cause on the europe server,.. you will have frencjh guys, german guys and spanish guys.. and my foreign languages arent that good :D

personally I haven't decided what server i'm going on.
main reason I was thinking on playing on the europian server is because when I play most usa people will be asleep :)
then again, this might have it's advantages :)

Well for some strange reason I think the US scene will be a tad better then the europe one.
Since u will always have people who generalize because of someone's nationality.
I have chello...so that kind of sums it up==> baaaad connection, even on cable. I'll be joining the European server because I think I wont be able to play the game properly on US servers. Sorry guys, if maybe I won't be able to participate in the PA that way.
I just hope you all decide to go europe :)

I know it's impossible but think about it:
1 server for all the europian players. Damn that would rock!
imagine over a hundred thousend players on 1 server.
Now that would be a crowded place :)
Although, waiting lines for the cloning centers will be HUGE!.
AO tried it, and for a while, there were only one server. It did not work. After a while, they split it in two. What is for certain is that huge mono-server MMORPGs is a supremely cool idea (I know I dream of it), but in reality, it tend to be... highly unstable, and the server downtime at patching and maintainance is a true pest.

there should be mad servers...isn't it limited to 3000 characters per server?
I haven't seen any official word on exactly how many servers or what the limits will be. That's probably something they will work out in later stages of Beta (stress testing the servers).

Hmm.. yes, I noticed I will be a soldier! Really, it's a good description right now, since I want to know a loooot more about SWG before I decide what way to go (propably won't until I enter beta *fingers crossed*). Until then, soldier it is. With all those droid manufacturers and engineers, you could use trusty blaster. :)

and for the lack of space when SWG comes out I will be driving some fast vehicles etc. :)

I think they said a long time ago that it would not be that way.
It's impossible, because we wouldn't be able to travel to other planet.
But I ask myself, will you be able to control the same char on an other server? Or will it be like the realm-system in DII?
It's not impossible. What happens is that the server sends all info about your char to another server, and after some loading time, you are on the other server. AO use this, and DAoC use it for its cities. So no, it's not impossible. But i don't really think they'll do it.
