Enabling Specific Custom Skins?

On my server I want to only allow the custom skins I specify... I'm tired of having to answer the infamous "Do you see my skin?" question.

I need to only enable the skins I (the server) has!

Just set sv_pure "1". Once you do that, only skins installed on the server can be used by connected clients. Unfortunately, that won't stop people from asking if you can see their skin because although the server may have a specific skin installed and one client may have the same skin installed--thus being able to use it--there is no requirement that any other connected user MUST have the skin. Thus, the rest of the players on the server would all see that first player in a default skin.

The only real solution is to remove all custom skins and set sv_pure "1". Then you know that only the default skins can be used and thus, everyone will see you in the skin you have selected. I'm sorry it's probably not the answer you're looking for, but that's how it works.

That's exactly what I was looking for. Now I don't see any Kyle's running around.

But the big problem is: Many clients who connect get booted because of invalid PK3 error.. Is this caused by them using a MOD and/or custom skin my server does NOT support?

It's caused by the later. They are actually using a model ur server doesn't have in it's base directory ;)

Actually, simply "having" an extra skin/etc in the player base dir isn't a problem on a pure server. Trying to actually USE it is.
