while i havent tried a dedicated server with this....ive hosted games with dismemberment turned on and it didnt crash at all or give any problems.......so try it out! :P

servers need to type this in console: g_dismember 200
thats to enable it(playing with the number increases probability i think)

clients need to type: cg_dismember 1
to be able to see it

this is for those who have installed 1.03 patch........

Wouldn't it be best if everyone added

cg_dismember 1

to an autoexec.cfg file? Then it wouldn't be annoying to type it ever time. I hate annoying things...

I think the client will write any varibles you "expressly" set from the console to your config on it's own when the game is exited normally...

This is how you can change your name in the console - quit the game - and then return with the name being the same...

Incidently I remember somewhere where using "seta" vs "set" has something to do with this as well... Whereas typing 'seta [varible] <value>' will write this command to the config file even if it is a cvar that is normally not saved I.E. 'sv_cheats'

Not 100% positive on that - but I seem to remember something like that in some docs for Quake3.

The 'a' in seta is short for "archive". I prefer to have a custom config that I exec via the autoexec.cfg so that it's a bit more portable. Of course, that's just personal preference.
