How exactly do you get the force powers to work in multiplayer? When i press the function keys as hotkeys, nothing happens - certainly no force lightning when i hit f7, despite other players frying me in response!

First, make sure you bind your force powers to the keys you want in the menu.
Second, when you enter a game, you should be presented with a screen that has a button that says "configure force powers". Click it and choose which powers you to allocate your force pool points to. Also, read the manual.
