Hello all. This is my third tutorial and my first KotOR tutorial. It's also my first written tutorial.

*ahem*

Tools you'll need:
GIMP
KotOR Tool

Getting started:
First you'll need to extract your texture from the game with your KotOR tool. I'm not going to tell you how, there are many other tutorials that can tell you.

Now open your texture in GIMP. It should look like this:

http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/7104/46126856.th.jpg) (http://img149.imageshack.us/i/46126856.jpg/)

Now every time you make an edit ALWAYS make a new layer.

http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/9548/81926511.th.jpg) (http://img716.imageshack.us/i/81926511.jpg/)

Now select the area that you want to change with the free-select tool. To do this, simply click around the part, making an outline. Like so:

Once it is selected, color it in with the paintbrush tool.

Now set the layer mode to multiply.

http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/3593/50190364.th.jpg) (http://img193.imageshack.us/i/50190364.jpg/)

And you should come out with this:

http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/6024/20812704.th.jpg) (http://img823.imageshack.us/i/20812704.jpg/)

Now repeat the process with another part of the texture, if you wish. I did it and got this:

http://img249.imageshack.us/img249/2203/71845572.th.jpg) (http://img249.imageshack.us/i/71845572.jpg/)

Now save the texture. You will probably come up with this messege:

http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/3518/19175765.th.jpg) (http://img52.imageshack.us/i/19175765.jpg/)

Just click "Export".

Now throw the file into your override and test. This is my finished product:

Before I go I have a few tips for reskin mods:

If you plan to release, use the higher quality textures found in the KotOR tool. Also do not make the whole thing one solid color, people don't like that and won't download. Also make it look like it belongs in the star wars universe, most people don't like multi-colored robes. And a pack of reskins are more likely to be downloaded than just one little skin.

That's it. Happy skinning!

@Rtas Vadum: Thank you.

@Xerios: There can be many tutorials covering the same subject. Some people may understand my wording better than Canderis'. And vice versa. o_Q

Very good. Question: is there a mod that puts those tatoos on the face or did you do it yourself?

@TimBob12: That mod would be the Lady of the Blood Rose mod by MetalSabre (http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/Lady_of_the_Blood_Rose;78250).
