If I have something in 3d s max (sculpt and quite new) I still need a converter to convert the file from 3ds max to mdl and mdx. Can you tell me one where I think these two? On the Internet, although I have searched but found nothing, unfortunately.

Thanks in advance once already.

You'll have to export your model from Max as an MDL i'm afraid.

You have misinterpreted me. (laughs). Actually, I thought if I created an entirely new model without the use mdl / mdx from the two games have.

Euh? You'll need NWmax, it's a plugin to import and edit parts of the Kotor models, any sort of model: area, creatures, placeables.

Once you get that installed, you'll have to add in a AuroraBase, you'll have to link your model to that. Then use the Export from the AuroraBase. If everything goes OK, you should get a model.mdl file, though that file will be in ASCII code.

You can open it in Notepad and you'll find a whole list of readable english and numbers :p
Anyway depending on what you've made, you'll need MDLops or Kaurora.

These programs can compile/transform your ASCII file to the real MDL & MDX files the game uses. Ofcourse, then you still need to make extra files, to let the game know about your model. Things like UTI files or editing the .are file and what not.

Check out the tutorial section or else do a Search here on Holowan. No doubt you'll find an anwser.
