Well, I've chosen my class.
Admiral Piett: Bounty Hunters?? We Don't need there scum!
Burn, burn, buuuurn! Although I'm slightly disappointed that it's design is again to reminiscent of the Bounty Hunters in the Original Trilogy (300 years earlier, Calo Nord didn't wear any helmet or jetpack, only his armor and blaster), but it's definitely a class that I want to play as, not in the least for the Bounty Hunter's personal story, which, I assume, will be full of shifting allegiances and complex moral decisions.
I dislike the Boba Fett look, but there is a screenshot of a human bounty hunter in there too, with more Kotor-like equipment and a visible face.
I like.
Although I'll still go for the LS Sith. :)

Calo Nord was also 5 feet tall and dressed like a bum. Do you want short hobos to be collecting bounties on your head? Is that truly epic enough for a Star Wars game?
On a side note, am I the only one who thinks that being a bounty hunter just to gank people would be fun?

No you are not. :xp:

True the Boba look is obvious. Also I don't think Calo Nord would even fit into any BH armor they might of had in kotor.

Boba Fett is a bit obvious...but it's because he's an ICON!! He's AWESOME!! Mandalorian armor is just.....well...very much Bounty Hunter, I would try to make my bounty hunter look like that...they're awesome...:D
i'd try that class. All i have to do first is get a computer instead of my laptop, lol.
Already told myself this would be the class I'd primarily play and I'm not disappointed so far.
Hopefully we'll get a reveal update like this every month or less.
I was a Bounty Hunter during my short stint with Galaxies. Killing Jedi was funny.
There is no way I'm going to play as this class. [/sarcasm]
Admiral Piett: Bounty Hunters?? We Don't need there scum!
Says it all, really...:xp:
Sith Officers next, please!
Sweet! Hopefully the last thing we see is the Jedi/Sith Knights, now THATs scum we don't need! :p
Am I the only one a little disappointed in this?
Not so much because BH is Sith only, but because it means there's essentially going to be 4 classes with 8 stories.
Two we know are Jedi and Sith.
so we know now that two more will be BH/<Republic equivalent>
That means that half of the classes are already listed.
Force User
big gun
Now there will be a healer class, so that means one or two more classes down
So we're left with either 3 others, or just 1(with 2 names)
I just really hoped that Jedi and Sith would be the same class but this makes it look more like 2 separate classes with shared abilities. Essentially splitting one class into 2.
I may roll a B/H in a year or two, when Jedi gets nerfed from the consistent whining that will undoubtedly ensue

I'm pretty sure they said that there will be 8 professions/classes.. So far they have released two.
I'm pretty sure they said that there will be 8 professions/classes.. So far they have released two. Bounty Hunter is the first officially announced playable class, no? We'll have to wait to see whether Jedi and Sith are one or two separate classes.

We'll have to wait to see whether Jedi and Sith are one or two separate classes.Yeah, they are saying this is the first officially announced class. We know we'll be able to play as Jedi or Sith but like you said don't know if they will just be one class, one per faction or if they'll go like KotOR and have multiple force using classes which can be either faction.
Hmm...anyone notice the 'attacks' from this Bounty hunter class are all anti-Jedi/Sith orientated?
-The Jetpack attack (Jango Fett vs. Obi-Wan)
-Flamethrower (Fett vs. Windu, it got Windu of the balcony)
-The rocket launcher (which is obvious)
I'm quit confident this little class will make being a Jedi quit difficult. And I like it. In this timeframe, the Sith Empire would probably be putting bounty's on Jedi heads and the Bounty hunters would specialise in hunting Jedi.
The animations look cool, and I'm loving the mass effect style arm holographic thingy. I'll be a Jedi as my main, but I'll definately have a bounty hunter alt. Really liking everything I'm seeing so far.
That's pretty impressive, though I'm waiting for details on the Jedi and Smuggler classes. I wonder if they'll allow multiclassing...

Well, the reason I say half the classes is because if Jedi and Sith are two classes, just balanced against eachother, then we have BH and the quivalent will be put on the Republic side(since BH is Sith only) It really means if you want to stick to one side you are limited to 4 profs. Basically, that will mean you have 4 real classes with 8 class stories(and mild differences between Republic and Sith)
See what I mean is if you have Sith and Jedi on opposite sides of the Sith/Republic war, that means two classes are really one shared class of force users. Now with BH being Sith only, that means they are going to make another class that is Republic only. It will essentially be the BH without the BH title, and a slightly different abilities. We have the heavy weapons class decided. A split class, based on allegiance. Basically taking one class and splitting it into two classes.
There's bound to be a healer class(has been for most games, why think it would be any different). If they do the same thing and split a class in two, you would have say Field Medic for Sith and Doctor for Republic, That would mean that we have only one class not listed. the sneaky class.

My guess is a soldier class for each side, and a smuggler class as the Republic equivalent for the bounty hunter.
Hmmm I think I will have to choose between Sith or Bounty Hunter, being a bounty hunter rocks.

There doesn't have to be a class whoose strength is primarily healing. Using WoW as an example, each class has several branches or skill trees you could follow. The most likely scenario to me is the jedi/sith class have a healing (consular) branch to follow.

That makes sense
Jedi-Sith
Smuggler-Bounty Hunter
Republic Soilder-Sith Soilder
Republic Officer-Sith Officer
As for Wow, there is at least one class that can heal better than others. Though there is some debate on that. But I could see the soldier in TOR being able to spec out as either a medic, or heavy weapons.
Actually I wouldn't be surprised if one of the Jedi's trees focused on healing, though then again that wouldn't really fit if the Sith and Jedi have equivalent skillsets as it doesn't really fit for a Sith.

Maybe they can work around that with some different skills. 'Dark Healing' or something which requires the healer him/herself to sacrifice some health as well.
But still, you can play a Lightside Sith or a Dark Side Jedi right? If they hold on to the Kotor alignment< -->skills system, a Dark Side Jedi will be a rubbish healer and a Light Side Sith a realy bad Force Lightning spammer.
I think Moeller is onto something...the Soldier class would be more fitting to have a medic skill tree since Jedi/Sith will encounter too much problems..
Yeah that is true, your faction does not determine your alignment, your choices do so it could still work. But I would think one of these theoretical classes will have a healing tree instead of having an actual healer/medic class as that would not fit with the supposed solo gameplay.
Agreed....it would be boring to level a healing class. Even Priests in WoW have smiting trees and so, which are cooler too level.
But still...the alignment problems...how will they solve that? :)
Ya know, a smuggler could technically be a healer type... Stolen Bacta....
But I could see smuggler as almost anything really. Technician, gunman, pilot, jawa launcher... er merchant, heavy weapons, negotiator... "aggressive" negotiator. It really depends on what they do with it.
Do you want short hobos to be collecting bounties on your head?
I actually got attacked by a hobo. No lie, it was scary. So there is some validity to that.
But I always thought Calo looked like a some weird 1900's pilot.
