Almost everyhing, with the notabe exceptions of biographies and philosophy (although I have read some, it's a tiring reading). And that assuming that by "romance" you meant any fictional work.

I haven't read a book since I was in high school :p ...wish there was an option for that.

I would have thought my favorite book genre was Action/Adventure, but after counting my books they are largely History. Although I’m pretty sure some of those are actually fiction.

I would say fantasy is my favorite genre, it is what most of my favorite book series' fall under. LotR/Silmarillion/The Hobbit and Harry Potter are my favorite book series. I haven't read anything new recently though.

Science Fiction (That is what Star Wars is, after all :p) and Historical Fiction are my two main favorites - but I do like to read a good biography, or occasionally a True Crime book (I have a somewhat unhealthy addiction to organised crime).

I checked everything. It really depends on the author and the book.

I like anything that is a good read.

You left out the erotic literature option, btw.

I like fantasy, sci-fi, and mysteries best. I grew up reading things like The Hobbit and Nancy Drew mysteries.

Now I still read The Hobbit, Nancy Drew mysteries (and a crapload of other mystery novels) but I've added Star Wars books into the mix, as well as some sci-fi classics like Strager in a Strange Land.

No historical fiction? Bernard Cornwell's SHARPE series. They're very good, and there's around 20 of them. By the time you get to the end of the series you forget what the beginning is.

An excellent question!

I really enjoy science fiction, but I also enjoy fantasy, and fiction. Mystery will some times strike my interest. Sherlock Holmes certainly did... Depending upon what it's about, History books sometimes interest me.

History is my current favourite for recreation - I'm currently reading The Alexiad of Anna Komnena.

I've been into this genre for a few years, mainly Roman history leading into Byzantine history - great stuff! :D

Mystery
Action / Adventure
Science Fiction
Fantasy

Had debated on History & Biography, but to be honest I haven't read a decent one in quite some time. It gets "honorable mention" for now, but no vote. (suggestions welcomed) ;)

I'd say Star Wars is more Fantasy than Sci Fi.Yeah, pretty sure this is correct.

I haven't read very many Star Wars books so that is why I did not mention them, but I guess I have read a few good ones. First book in the LotF series, and Labyrinth of Evil I remember being pretty good, but some of the others I just couldn't get into.

Hmm, I wonder how much I could get for all of them if I sell em...

I agree with Astor on this one.
There was a massive debate thread regarding this in Ahto. Take a look around and you'll find it. ;)

But IIRC, GL himself had commented that Star Wars is fantasy and not science fiction. I'll have to dig that up, though.

Lots of Star Wars reading, but I do venture into biographies about Bill Gates, and other tech stuff like that...it's only a luxury I can enjoy when the atmosphere is right, otherwise I get distracted, so I don't read too much, even though I want to... :(

Or...or...or...this is a crazy idea, maybe the craziest ever, but bear with me:

Could it possibly have elements of both? :xp:

Fantasy and Sci-Fi are my thing, though I read a lot of historical fiction when I was younger, for school. I also read classics (like Dickens or Shakespeare) from time to time.
