After many searches I found the Talchia's Hardcore Mod. This mod is required for other mods I want to use in Knights of the Old Republic. When I downloaded it and read where to install it... it says to install it in the overide folded in Kotor/2! If I install it there will it work for Kotor 1?

Actually Shem made an outstanding one for K1 that for lack of a better phrase "rebalances the game". He adjusted alot of files to compensate for blaster power, lightsaber power, enemy difficulty, etc., etc. and really created a better, more difficult experience. Check out the forum thread on it Here (http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=170283). See what you think.

Edit: Sorry, forgot to answer your question though. The answer is no, if you install Talchia's hardcore mod in your TSL override folder, it will have absolutely no impact on your K1 override folder. If you were asking if you put it in your K1 override folder if it will have an impact, also no, it will not and could possibly wreak havoc on your game. I'm not intimately familiar with Talchia's mod, but I would surmise it alter either a .2da or a script to accomplish its task, and either one if named the same as one in K1 would have a pretty bad end result. Browse around Kotor Files (http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/files/Knights_of_the_Old_Republic;67index) for various mods that might suit your hardcore mod purposes as well.

Talchia's Hardcore mod is one of the oldest mods we have around. Made back in the cave-dwelling days of KotOR modding.

jooeph, the real Talchia's Hardcore Mods readme is in German if I recall correctly and it has no mention of K2 as it didn't exist then. Better re-check the mod file you downloaded as it might not be Talchia's but instead sounds like the one made for TSL by beancounter.

Talchia's Mods are still available here. (http://www.download.com/Talchia/3260-20_4-6252706.html) As indicated in the stuck Where can I find Mods? (http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=143413) thread.

To install Talchia's Mod simply place the k_ai_master.ncs into your KotOR Override directory. ;)

If you want it for Kotor 1, you may be unlucky because this mod maybe incompatible with K1!;)

Here is Shem's mod: Clicky (http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/Super_Enhanced_Mod_for_both_KOTOR_TSL;69389)
Here is Shem's mod add-on: Clicky (http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/Super_Enhanced_Mod_Add_On_for_both_KOTOR_TSL;69846) )

I'm from those cave-dwelling KotOR Modding days... you youngins don't know what it was like, you all have it so cushy now with all them new-fangled tools and things.

All we had was a gff editor, stone knives and bear skins! :p

Yeah, I bet you did! Well, believe it or not, I like making things difficult...That's why I modify almost any file from Kotor and TSL with a GFF Editor...I like the options it gives to you, far more than Kotor Tool's options, right?:xp:

EDIT: Yah, thanks for that, RH, and sorry for going off-topic!:)

Answering here to not go off topic: A few serious points about GFF item edits and KT, KT will limit you some on the item properties whereas the GFF editor won't. In some instances KT won't do more than a +5 Bonus to something when a +10 is possible in-game with a GFF editor to the same property. Hence why you can't open some of my modded items up in KT. So yes a GFF editor has some extras, even today. Just an FYI. ;) -RH
