Can you recommend a good game recorder?

Hi guys, I'll leave this one up to your boundless knowledge. Are there any good free Recording programs out there to record videos of games?

In particular, I'm after one that works with ScummVM. This rules out FRAPS.

Any other options? Unless you know of a way to get FRAPS to work with ScummVM!

This is probably totally unhelpful, but ScummVM is open source and it already has a screenshot feature. If you know C++, you could make it save every frame and put them into an AVI file.

I don't know of any third-party programs that do this, unfortunately.

You're right! That was totally unhelpful! :D

Sorry, I jest. No, I don't know C++ or indeed any sort of programming language. I don't know why FRAPS doesn't work in it, so I'll need an alternative...

Nah, didn't work. When I start to record ScummVM just minimises. It doesn't do sound either, although that's not critical.

On the ScummVM forums, I saw (http://forums.scummvm.org/viewtopic.php?t=1605) a thread that mentioned DOSBox (http://www.dosbox.com/) was capable of extracting video from ScummVM. There was another (http://forums.scummvm.org/viewtopic.php?t=4935) thread that mentioned the use of Hypercam (http://www.hyperionics.com/).

I'll give Hypercam a go, but I hate Dosbox. Fiddly thing.
