You are aware of the invention called KotOR Tool and that said invention has limitations right? Even with a team of modders it would take ridiculous amount of time, possibly years to convert the game fully.

So, the tip from your resident kaiju is - play FFVII instead.

Brotherhood of Shadow took 2 years. That wasn't anywhere near a Total Conversion (though I am not insulting the quality of the work - it was very good). For a true Total Conversion you're probably going to need 20 hours of gameplay. Bear in mind that KotOR 2 was 40-50 hours.

For that you're going to need a LOT more than 3 people. You'd need basically everyone on this forum (including Quanon, Gsccc and SithSpecter for module creation - all of whom are currently working on their own very large projects, notably Gsccc who is working on his own Total Conversion), you'd need a lot of very talented scripters, a lot of skinners (also very talented), a lot of modelers (for weapons, etc), and one hell of a lot of dialog editors and voice actors. Which you are very unlikely to get.

So short answer: now. You should go and work on a smaller mod yourself or join in with a larger mod. There are a lot of modding teams out there that could use your help.

its a nice idea really, but not a terribly feasable one.

im doing a TC for KOTOR2, and im doing it alone..

but thats purely because i've got 4 years of Uni left to finish it in. so unless your looking to put in 5 hours a day for the next 4 years.. dont waste your time

Mod note:
A lot of posts hijacking this thread to talk about something else other than the topic (recruiting for other modding teams, discussing those other modding teams etc) have been snipped from the thread. Please try to stick to the topic at hand. :stick:

If you want to discuss those other things, please do so in a thread where that is the topic.

Let me get this off my chest:

Final Fantasy mods have been done hundreds and hundreds of times. No one is really interested in them anymore.

Judging by your grammar and spelling, I assume you are quite young, and not that good of a modder at first. Like the others have said, try finding smaller projects to start on, then go on to bigger ones.

I made that mistake when I first started my total conversion, I had to put it on hold for a month or two to get more experience.

And I look forward to playing it :D.

Final Fantasy mods have been done hundreds and hundreds of times. No one is really interested in them anymore.

Not to mention the fact that the series has been beaten to a mangy pulp, put through a blender, liquified, consumed, digested, put on a compost heap and used as fertilizer for a tomato patch. And then beaten again.

Honestly when you make 16 different video games under the same series name AND with almost identical plot/characters/gameplay/dialog/etc you would've thought people would have had enough of said series.

That's not a personal attack on any FF fans. I still like the Simpsons after its been going for 19 seasons. I'm just saying that since there are 16 games in existence that are going to be better than any mod ever released, then why make a TC of it?

Not to engage on any particular discussion about it, but are you aware of what you're saying? Each chapter is a different story, characters, and even different worlds.

I know that they aren't the same game, but I was just simply saying that the games are very similar.
