I am making a recruit able npc, but how do i add a texture to it, since I do not have the faintest clue, do i have to edit 2da appearances or..

If you want to add a custom skin to your recruitable NPC without overwriting anything then yes, you will have to add a new entry to appearance.2da. I believe there was a thread posted in just today that had some very handy links in it. :)
Too add texture, you will need to use the MDLOps renamer function. For a head, at least...
