 I am trying to edit a jedi robe and I want to get rid of the back tail of the robe and the front part below the belt. I wanted to know if its possible and if it is could someone tell me how to do it.

The only way to do that would be to re-model the robe itself, I'm not going to try explain how to do it as my modeling skills are crude and sloppy at best.

Yeah... I can show you what part of the skin that section is... I have been working on a Robe Skin Map that I will release soon as a little tut....

I'm not sure what would happen if you just painted those parts of the skin transparent? Seems like that would work, without editing the model, but I am not as in the know as most in these forums.

I never heard of painting things transparent. But even if you did I expect you would still see the outline of it and you would still see it move when Revan walks

Painting it transparent would only work if those bits are a plane and not actually 3-dimensional (I haven't checked, so I'm not sure what they are). If they are simply a plane you can just give them a 100% transparent alpha channel and they will be gone. You won't have an outline and you won't have to worry about seeing it because... it's invisible. :p

If I remember right, the biggest part of the lower back of the robe is "one" with the pants. Then you would only need to make the smaller triangle between the
legs invisible plus a re-paint of the pants to, so it reaches higher.

I haven't mapped the K1 robes... been working more with the TSL's. I was thinking about alpha channel and not literally "painting" transparent, thank you Inyri!

I thought about the movement of the robes... you might still see a shimmer of movement if you did change the transparency. In TSL the robe and pants are completely separate. I will have to fool around with K1 robes a bit...
