Yowzers! That's one heck of a shortsword! I may have to start a new character to see what this thing looks like on the Endor Spire. Might be worth holding onto a shortsword for longer than five minutes now!

The poly count, according to NWMAX, is 466.

Yowzers! That's one heck of a shortsword! I may have to start a new character to see what this thing looks like on the Endor Spire. Might be worth holding onto a shortsword for longer than five minutes now!

That's a Nice head-mod your character has. Did you make that, or is it part of a downloadable mod?

General Information I forgot to add in the first post:
This sword blade was created by importing a piece of clipart into AutoCad(R), extruding same, applying a texture, and exporting as a .3ds. The .3ds was imported into NWMAX. I deleted the blade from the original model and replaced it with this.

It is necessary to apply a texture in AutoCad(R) prior to export, or the NWMAX texturing will not work correctly. I have no idea why this is.

Could be a export problem: if model soesn't have a texture then uvwmap will not be exported. Just a guess.

I like the graphic that you are using in your avatar! I could make something REALLY interesting with that!

Thanks!!! I really need to force myself to learn more about NWMAX, particularly in the area of texture mapping. The little knowledge that I have now gives me a much greater appreciation of the time and effort that people have to put into lightsaber and other weapon mods.

One useful tip that I have for other novices (like me):

It is relatively easy to mod robes, armour, creature-skins, etc. by editing the existing .tga files. All you have to do is isolate parts of the tex-a files and apply photo-effects.

Sorry, to me, it looks like a totaly unfunctional weapon, something that's very hard to wield and very slow, without any real benefits. And so, it doesn't really look "cool" to me - it has not enough of a sword to look like a "cool" sword. But of course, that's just my opinion - and I'm someone, who wouldn't be able to create something like that, even if my life depended on it, because I've go no real talent for design. So I probably wouldn't give much to my opinion :-)

No, I wish I could claim it as my own, but it's the Asajj Ventress playable character from the Asajj Ventress (http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=165148) mod by mjpb3 (which comes, by the by, with what I think are possibly THE coolest saber hilts I've ever seen, custom-made for the character by oldflash).
