As always, Welcome to the forums!
Well, can you explain your problem? As far as i am aware, there isn't an ASCII form of 2da to convert into Binary? If you mean from XML then look at KotOR Tool:

http://kotortool.starwarsknights.com/)

It has many tools built-in to convert/edit the different file types. For 2da you would click on the "2da" shortcut or: "Tools -> Open 2da File Editor", or press "Ctrl+D2".
Then click "load 2DA 2.b (XML) File..." and select your XML 2da file. Then press "Save as 2DA 2.b..." or press Ctrl+S.

im not sure? I get alot of errors aswell but i tend to resolve those. The most common is when you try to open a source script. you need NWscript in your games override

That message usually means you don't have the Microsoft .NET Framework (http://download.microsoft.com/download/a/a/c/aac39226-8825-44ce-90e3-bf8203e74006/dotnetfx.exe) installed, which is required to run KotorTool.

Note also that stoffe has a 2DA Converter/Merger utility (http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=153075) and I wrote a plug-in for Excel for 2da editing (http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=147961) as well.

and I wrote a plug-in for Excel for 2da editing (http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=147961) as well.

Which, by the way, makes 2DA editing a lot easier, especially if you are making large changes :).

Keep in mind that the Text --> Binary converter in this tool requires the 2DA to be formatted in the same way as what the Binary --> Text converter produces, currently. I.e. it can't handle any whitespace character or an arbitrary amount of them between columns, so it's fairly limited in use when working with text 2DA's not produced by the same utility.

If you have MS Excel/Office tk102's import/export plugins are a much better alternative if you import your text 2DA into a spreadsheet. The above tool was just made to allow me to get data in and out of OpenOffice.org.

I use the 2DA converter to make changes to single cells, creating new rows can be more complicated but its a great tool for making repairs.
