nintendo says it's coming 4th quarter of 2006. Thats October-December. Anyone have guesses on which month?

I gotta say, I honestly don't care. I mean, the Wii looks awesome and I want one, but if the current pattern continues with my familes purchasing of consoles, we won't be getting it untill either the christmas after it comes out, or until we save up for one when it's $200.

Manufacturing of the Wii has been ongoing since June 21st according to Kotatu (http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/wii/wii-on-sale-even-earlier-than-october-185235.php), meaning they could feasibly launch even earlier than quarter four. However they're probably extending the wait so they can get as many machines built as possible, preventing them from falling into the same shortage hole that Microsoft did.

I'm personally putting my money on October.

Well, at least when it comes out I can convince my mom I was talking about a game system, not weed. And I'm hoping it's October, even though I won't be getting it ever.

What about Aussie release? According to PC User, it'll be around March 2007. I want the Nintendo Wii NOW. I'll probably get it May 2007 as a birthday prezzie.

Such a difficult choice this is.

I was sort of looking forward to the Wii. But at $250 for a super-gamecube and only 1 controller, with other controllers costing $60? I say Bah. I know I sound sort of bitchy, but I can't help it. Bare with me. If it had been like $200 with 2 controllers and cheaper ones to buy later, I really would have considered it. I think I'll still wait a few months and see what happens between all 3 new consoles before buy anything.
