Yes, it's quite simplistic, but in a good way.

I like, I like. I'd be interested to see a concept art of a Jedi, or a Sith Lord.

unfortunately, i'm not very good at drawing facial features :(. but i might give a shot at Vader or masked Revan soon, but for now, it's just basic stuff like lightsabers and blasters. i've made a couple more sabers and am working on my first blaster. i'll put them up soon.
thank you all :)

heh, well, actually, i use scales, guidelines and inspirations from common everyday items. i got the inspiration for Revan's saber from my permanent marker's cap :D
thanks, Sabre. i'll put up more soon

Hey looks AWESOME! If you could make that into 3D that'd be totally cool! However, I'm guessing that this would be Revan's lightsaber BEFORE he changed to the darkside with Malak or AFTER he got memory-wiped on the Endar Spire. :P lol because most of the time, Sith don't carry around Blue lightsabers (although it would be good cover for those who are spys and don't want to show their true colors, no pun intended! lol)

Well anyways, again, nice job and I hope to see more! :)

EDIT: Looking closer at your drawing, i see you used marker for coloring the handle, but what did you use for the blade? Is that crayon or some type of pastel? Either way it looks awesome!

It might be colored pencil. To me, it looks like crayon.

Yeah colored-pencil usually doesn't have the splotchy look like that... more liney. But I like the crayon idea better! :)

nah, i used the pencil shading techniques i learnt in art class and made the blade with a blue coloured pencil.

and this is the lightsaber Revan used before he fell to the dark side.

alright cool! I wish I was an artist. But even when I trace something with tracing paper it looks terrible. lol I suck at drawing! :( But you're really good. I hope you get your scanner to work and upload your next image! :)

alright, i got the scanner working at last. here ya go:

Duron Qel Droma's Jedi Lightsaber (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h127/RC1162/scan0012.jpg)

it may seem a bit plain, but hey, that's 4000 years old ;)
the blue thing at the bottom os a light bulb. he was an intelligent person i presume, and if he needed some light in crowded areas, the blue bulb would be less dangerous than the blade, dontcha think? :D

Hey, RC, I did a real quick model of it, just as a "proof of concept" sort of thing, it only took me a hour, but if it wasn't my first time modeling in like a year and a half I could have modeled it quicker. I even took the time to do a real shoddy uvw map and skin it, lol, but it does enough to prove it's relatively easy. I just wish I could remember how to render the thing, lol. Anyway, here is a gmax screenie.

@ Mav: thats awesome, man! you havent lost your skill at all. if you don't mind, could you make a mod out of it? you can take as much time as you like. :)

@ Jabba: i usually draw a rough sketch before i start, it helps me organise :)

I'm sorry but I can't, it's not that I don't have the time, it's that I don't have the game, lol, TSL isn't installed on my PC right now, neither is KT, so I can't extract any of the model files or anything else for that matter. About all I can do is send you the gmax scene and let you take it from there. However, since I don't have the game installed, I've no way to test it so I've no way of knowing if the texture will warp in game or if there will be any more problems while converting it for the game. PM me your e-mail, and I'll try to make the cleanest UV map I can, i.e. detach important faces and such, I'll do my own skin and a paint by numbers type thing to show you how the texture is laid out. Sorry but thats the best I can do :(
