I have an idea for a new RP. It has nothing to do with Star Wars. Either way you vote, please tell me why you voted why you did, so I get some honest, useable feedback.

Back In the early 20th centry, when one went to the movies, there was included a short 10-15 minute 'mini movie'. There were many different chapters, all following the same main character(s). They began with a recap of what happened in the previous chapter, and ended in another cliff hanger.

In Star Trek: Voyager, one of the main characters, Tom Paris, creates a holodeck program based on this idea. It stars an adventeous space traveller by the name of Captain Proton (http://www.dustcatchers.com/cards/rh/stvc/pa1.jpg) (defender of Earth, scourge of intergalactic evil!), with a sidekick named Buster Kincaid (http://sdce.de/lexikon/images/2699.jpg) and a secretary named Constance Goodheart (http://www.msu.edu/user/pollyeaa/proton-108beta.jpg).

Villains
His arch nemesis is the evil Doctor Chaotica (http://www.thecollectorzone.com/images/products/1789_s.jpg) (self proclaimed ruler of the cosmos), who has under his command a guard by the name of Londvach (pronounced Londvak) and a Robot known as "Satan's Robot" (http://www.startrek.com/imageuploads/200303/voy-195-satan-s-robot/240x320.jpg).
Doctor Chaotica is in love with the insidious Queen Arachnia (http://www.scifihobby.com/products/startrek/completevoyager/graphics/cardsamples/proton-arachnia-auto.jpg) (Queen of the Spider-people). There isnt much else to tell about her, really.
The other character that would be only a peripheral would be the President of Earth, whose name is never given.

Other possible villains include the Twin Sisters of Evil (named Demonica & Malicia), and maybe aliens from the eigth dimension.

How It Would Work
The idea of 10-15 minute stories would most likely be dropped in preference of one smooth storyline, though it may be seperated into a number of different threads.

I would really only need 5 or 6 people in the thread(s). I would play Doctor Chaotica, but the part of Londvach and the Robot would be open. I would also play the President of Earth, though that is an extremely minor role. All he does is give Proton his missions, and that's it, so it makes sense that the 'thread master' plays the part.

So, would you participate in a RP like this? Either way you vote, please tell me why you voted why you did, so I get some honest, useable feedback.

I probably wouldn't participate. I saw a couple of Voyager episodes that included Captain Proton and wasn't impressed. I've also played the expansion pack of Elite Force in which there is a Captain Proton program you can play in the Holodeck. Wasn't impressed with that either.

So really, I just don't like the overall idea... it may turn out alright, but it just doesn't seem to be my type of RP.

Just out of curiousity, why were you not impressed with it?

There wasn't enough of a plot line to it... especially not the little mini-game in the Expansion Pack of Elite Force... rescue the 'pretty' secretary from the evil doctor... defeat his rather archaic looking robot whilst listening to the screams of the secretary and the maniacal laughter of the doctor...

And in Voyager, they never really developed any plot lines for it... so it all seemed rather pointless to me.

I have many plot lines in mind, though they are modelled after the cheesyness of the whole serial idea....
