Strategy: Hero's vs Villian's on Mos Eisley

For those of you who don't know, (and hopefully most do) Assualt on Mos Eisley is actually Hero's vs Villian's, where the player takes on the role as a Hero such as Luke or Han, or a villian, like Darth Vader or Jango Fett. There are many strategies on this map that you can use.

Strategy #1: Pick your character

Some may think choosing your character isn't a strategy, but actually it is. Having a character you're good at will seriously affect your ability to play. For example, if you are good with Yoda, but suck with Mace Windu, go with Yoda. Try experimenting on both sides to find your Strengths and Weaknesses.

Strategy #2: Force Power

The Force is your best ally because of the ability to Jump very high (aka, Force Jump)
Force Speed is also very good. You can easily take enemies by surprise. Again, practice with different characters to find your best powers.

Strategy #3: Have Fun

The most important thing on SWBF2 is to have fun. If you have online play, use it and join in with friends, and enjoy the game. Having fun is what gaming is all about.

My strategy: Guided rockets (grockets). If I am a hero, the only weapon I use is the grocket and fusion cutter (to repair ammo droids). I don't get many kills (3-6), but I get better and better each round. If you want to do good on the map and be high on the score results, I suggest not using grockets.

My favorite strat, is probably Mace and force push, force push someone then force jump and use his ground pound move right as he's getting up so he can't move out of the way and attack you while your pulling your lightsaber out of the ground. You have to practice several times though, it can be tricky to hit him dead on.

My favorite character though is probably Han Solo, I know he can seem pathetic, but that blaster of his is a 1 hit KO, even to hero's I believe if you get 'em on the head, nothing like dropping Darth Maul in 1 hit while he's force sprinting towards you, also Det packs can be a nasty surprise jedi can't block.

Mace, jumping from building to building and doing that stop thing on anyone close by, and then when the vilian is dead, returning atop the buildings.

Alura Secura, hiding amongst the building, staying stealthy. When someone comes by, force speed saber attack. One victim at a time though. If things get hectic, saber throw and jump away, back to cover.

any of the gunner heros work really well on the very top of the wall around the skiff or whatever it's called espially jango or boba cause they can't hurt themselves when they fall, they can jetpack away when needed, and there's tons more targets for them

I also like playing as Boba or Jango. They are good for attacking from rooftops. They are also very fast on the ground. If you have quick fingers you can throw in a flamethrower round before you blast them with your rifle/pistol. If I'm being chased by a jedi, I like to run backwards and shoot at them at the same time. Just keep dodging their saber throws. Boba and Jango are great at that. Also, remember to unload, when the enemy is jumping. It seems like they're more vulnerable then.

I don't know I just never seem to have luck with jango/boba, I always seem to get Mauled alive by certain sith whenever I attempt to use them.

I seem to rock with Han on the other hand, in my opinion he's the best shooter hero. (I know it doesn't make sense, maybe I've just been lucky.)

Leia gets a bad rap but she's really an O.K. hero, Ive dropped many a Maul/Anakin who tried charging me with a well placed shot to the head with her sniper like gun. Her speacial ability is underused as well. Invincibility, whenever I'm not han, I'm leia, sniping pesky sith from a distance and making sure my jedi buddies are invincible when they do get close enough to attack. Plus she's the only hero with thermal dets, quite useful at times.

Han does have a very powerful gun, and it's great for taking out enemies. However, Han lacks the speed and manuverability that is accompanied by jet packs. This is one advantage of Boba and Jango. When I play as the heroes, I do enjoy playing with Han. The key is staying away from the main battle, and shooting from afar.

I seem to be using Leia more often too. Its not possible for her to get out of or block force pulls/pushes, but its always nice to run up to a dying frendly and give him/her invincibility, then watch that player cream the three enemies attacking him/her.

Out of all the shooter heroes, IMO, han is best. He seems to have more health then the others, and detpacks can be so bloody fun :) (especially when putting dets at the doors of the cantina and see the bots try coming at you)

of course, i rarely play as the shooter heroes, unless i'm bored of lightsabers, so i hardly know anything

... *ALMOST*...

Other than the little pistol she get next to nothing, and have poor selection of secondary weaponary.

Also, "invinc" is basically a combination buff, not temporary invinc as the name would suggest.

I'm usually pretty "lame" when it comes to my picks... I go with Aayla Secura for the Heroes or Darth Maul for the Villains. When I don't feel like toting a glowstick I always go with Han. I usually set up on a rooftop somewhere and start picking off bad guys with the DL-44. I also always drop a detpack at my feet, so if somebody tries to jump into me I jump off the roof and set off the pack. I've done fairly decently with that strategy.

Another fun thing is to just find some sheltered spot with a gonk droid as chewy and just send remote rockets flying into areas with alot of players (watch out if TK is on). But after a while you might want to move, as the enemies tend to catch on pretty quick online.

It is a nice spot, but be careful online as a lot of the villians have taken it on themselves to charge the hanger with the sole purpose of taking out the ammo droids.

personally i take either maul (if i'm using villains) or aayla and climb to the top wall of the ship yard and wait until theres a fair few people below jump as high as is possible then wreak mass choas on those below in a downward spiral of death...........sweet!:D

oh yeah and I agree leia sucks big time i think you're at a disadvantage without the force

Maul is the best! With his agility and quick jumps you can exterminate just everyone!!!
Also one can use Force Push when someone comes jumping at you so as to immobilize them, as a Jedi can't block it while airborne.

hey verbatin:waive1:
just to give you a handy tip, when you look at the posts in threads, look at the dates. see on this one, the one before yours was over two months ago. that means it's a dead post, and when people necro threads, they are frowned upon and scorned. like naughty, naughty people. yeah, so, have fun if you decide to stay, but just remember that :xp:

I really don't see the need for you to scorn and frown upon Verbatin just for posting in a thread that is... Two months old? TWO MONTHS OLD!? WHAT WERE YOU THINKING, VERBATIN. jk jk jk. Welcome verbatin. Seriously. You can hardly post in the RC section without bumping a thread six months old, lol.

who cares if the thread is dead, it's for strategy so that any new player can get some help

I find the use of Force dishonorable, and frankly TOO easy. Of course you can kill someone by slashing them to peices after making them kiss your feet from their back or stomach. However, fighting without Force can be difficult, and you will prolly die a lot. Take it slow, face your enemy using your block, and when close enough, let off the block and cut your enemy down. And when fighting a choker, stay in the air and wait for them to come to you.

I prefer Mace because he has a combo that is powerful without being cheap, I just hate his airial. I prefer Maul when I fight against the Force because he can take on multiple enemies with great ease. If I was fighting people like me though, who don't use the Force, I Anikin is less powerful without sucking, which I like.

I see Force to be n00bish, and never use it, except for Run, jump and throw.
I use Anakin, since he isn't cheap in duels, and is a good challenge.

(pulls out his resurrection force power and applies it to this thread)

So...I can't seem to beat the AI in singleplayer and am looking for advice.

I started off trying several different Villains and did mediocre. I slightly improved my performance (30 kills, 18 deaths), but still found the rest of my AI team getting slaughtered and always getting the DEFEAT message.

I switched to Darth Maul (my fave guy anyway) and had a killing spree like no other. I got like 45 kills and 15 deaths (3 to 1 ratio) and we STILL got the big red DEFEAT. Looking at the post match summary, the Hero side was quite balanced in kills to deaths while the Villain side was very skewed towards few kills and lots of deaths.

Is there a strategy here that I am missing?

Thanks.

If your goal is to win the battle, then the best thing to do is capture as many command posts as you can. Capturing CPs from the enemy will gradually reduce their reinforcement count.

OK, tried your suggestion. Unfortunately, this doesn't work in the Assault Mode where the idea is strictly to rack up kill counts faster than the other team--you can't "capture" command posts like normally (i.e., hanging out near them for as long as it takes to change the color).

After the big red DEFEAT, the postmatch summary still shows most of the Jedi with double digit kills while the Sith have single digit kills. Are the Jedi characters simply stronger in general (at least as played by the AI)?

Does anyone have any strategies to either improve the kills of the Sith and/or reduce their deaths/defeats?

Tried Villain side a few more times, always the big red DEFEAT. My K/D ratio was typically 30-40/15 while the rest of my team was like 10/10. The Heroes always had 18/10

Switching to the Heroes side (Aayla Secura), I had a 55/10 ratio and we won with EASE (first victory ever for me on that map).

I have three base stratergies for Assault.

As Aayla: Run and jump across the rooftops, seeking out lone enemies that you can kill quickly and then run off to regenerate force powers or heal. I've seen people use force push\pull but to be honest I never really use it.

As Leia: Find your fave hero and get them to join you (I play offline) so you're covered. When you see the enemy use invulnerbility and then snipe away.

As Han: Select detpacks and if the enemy blocks toss one, then detonate it when they walk over it. Especially useful in tight allyways.

As Maul, 55 kills, 14 deaths, still the big red DEFEAT.

I guess I'll try blocking better and see if I can bring my deaths down a bit.

This is playing PS2, singleplayer, Villains...just can't win.

If you can do it, please explain how.

VICTORY! (Finally, sheesh!) :twogun: :maul5: :mauls:
As Maul, 79 kills, 14 deaths. That is the FIRST time I have ever gotten the Villains to win. We were down at 171 while the good guys were at 177 and somehow we managed to pull it out (I got 6 kills with my last guy when the blue VICTORY came up).

Note the previous game I had 85 kills and 17 deaths (5 to 1 ratio) and we still lost.

I am now a believer.
