I desided to start this thread to find out what team members you would like to see. They can be new or returning, What species, classes, genders, etc should they be. What will their characters be and why would they be their helping your PC. (i know we don't know the storyline let but, you can still think of things for the characters) This is not about the PC but the people who will be working with you.
I would like to see the return of the droids T3 and HK, the game would not be the same without them and i think this is inevitable.
I'd also like to see a Trandoshan to join your team they have always been the enemy. so a Trandoshan soldier would be cool to have in my opinion and to contrast the trandoshans aggressiveness personality how about a sullustian scoundral to fly your ship (proberly the ebon hawk)
well, I personally don't care who we get as party choices, so long as the choices aren't forced on you. I'd just like to be able to refuse help from some characters, and ask help from others in their place (sort of like what was done with tsl with disciple and handmaiden, and mira and hanharr, but I want to actually choose who will join me, not the game choosing for me).
I'd like to see HK and T3, the C3P0 and R2-D2 of Kotor...without them, Kotor would not be the same...perhaps Canderous too if he has more to say than in TSL: he really lost all his personality in that game.
Apart that, I don't really mind. I became more attached to the NPCs in Kotor 1 than in Kotor 2. In fact, Kreia being an exception, I found the NPC party members pretty bland in Kotor 2. Perhaps because of those dialogues that would repeast ad perpetuum until you gain enough influence.
I hope we will have more romantic options this time around. Kotor 2 was lacking in tht regard.
^^^^
agreed. although i thought that Visas was a bit fleshed out more than the rest of them, besides Kreia, of course.
and i personally would like to see more darkside-based characters join your party, particularly dark jedi. the whole thing with training characters to become Jedi (and turn them to the darkside) just wasn't quite the same. besides, it'd be nice to have some contrast to the many lightside characters in the two games.

HK and T3 without a doubt, I only hope that HK can keep his memory for a change.
I think reappearing twice is enough for Canderous, at least as a party member.
Unless we get some sort of mentor or teacher, I would like to be the only Jedi for a change.
And, why not have a Rodian in your party? I think that would be cool.
More aliens would be nice. A twilek force user on my team is quite appealing. And if the back story was worked well a Tusken Raider would be excellent.
And if the back story was worked well a Tusken Raider would be excellent.
Thats not a bad idea at all. In the "Outlander" story line, they did a great job with making the Tusken Jedi A'Sharad.

I agree with the Twilek, force user or not (I missed having a twilek in the team in K2) but a Tusken Raider? I already have problems with the wookie language but it has nothing to see with Tusken Raider language...that is far from being soft on the ear ...it's almost comparable to selkath language IMHO :ears1: I think I would have to turn the sound off...

A'Sharad Hett never worked for me. Neither did the Tusken Enclave in Kotor 1. The developers of both storylines tried their best to offer a new strange and alien mindset, but neither of them delivered - at least not for me. Both of them just felt really, really false. Both of them did the "honorable savage" but so awfully streamlined for a mainstream audience that it became as uninteresting as the Disciples story. A Tusken for party member will become the Disciple of K3. Complete with a boring and uniteresting characterization. Then I don't know how fun it will be to listen to a partymember speaking in guffaws and bellows all the way through the game.

Maybe its a personal prefference thing, but I actually found the Selkath language quite soothing. . .

I loved the A'Sharad character and I thought that they did a believable and good job in introducing him. I only wished they had used him in more story lines and truely give his character some life.

Really? I enjoyed it a lot, in fact the whole 'Worthy Of History" quest was something that I was looking forward to through the entire first half of the game. I guess it could be because I like the Sand People anyway that I am just biased.
A Tusken for party member will become the Disciple of K3. Complete with a boring and uniteresting characterization.
Ouch. . . that was just harsh.
Then I don't know how fun it will be to listen to a partymember speaking in guffaws and bellows all the way through the game.
I must admit that I didn't really think about that, while I enjoy the Tusken Raiders, it would probably put people off having to hear a Tusken party member speaking. Though for me, I know I could live with it and ejnjoy finding out about the character.
Though a problem does arise in that, unless the pc can speak the language, you would constantly have to have HK in order to translate and that may end up being a bit much.
I, like most of you, definately want to see HK-47 and T3 return. I would also like to see Mandalore, he was one of my favorite characters. And I agree with stinger, I would like to see more Dark-sided party members.
It would be cool to have Hk-47 back, Im a little indiferent about T3.
and i personally would like to see more darkside-based characters join your party, particularly dark jedi. the whole thing with training characters to become Jedi (and turn them to the darkside) just wasn't quite the same. besides, it'd be nice to have some contrast to the many lightside characters in the two games.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.
I'd love to see a much wider range of potential party members that you could choose your 9, or however many, from. It would lend the game an even greater sense of replayability if the choices you could make went beyond just Mira / Hanharr and Handmaiden / Disciple.
Apart from the two droids, I want brand new party members.
One of the most enjoyable things about playing these games is meeting new characters and having them join your party, and learning about their background. If party members from previous games join your party, then there's no real interaction since you already know who they are and all about their backstories.
I think brand new party members will be introduced. Still, I'd like to see the droids again and also Candyman, Mission, Bao-Dur and Mira.
I also agree with Dark_lord_Cheez and nas77. I thisk it would be nice if the team you had was made up of around 9 characters but you could chose from around 10-20. with the exception of T3, HK and possibly two other characters (the kreia/bastillia and atton/carth of the group) the rest would not be forced on you and you could pick and choose who you wanted. this could add new aspects to the game as like the hanharr/mira thing some will only join you in you are alligned the right way. some could be mercs who you have to pay to join you, or they offer their survices for some reasonn and you could either accept their help or till them were to stick it.
I to would like to see a twi'lek force user but i would like to see more alien force users in general
I think it would be cool if you would control Carth or Bastila (lightside pending) at the beginning of the game to get you to the system where the "true sith", revan, and the exile are. Then once you get there, they become part of your party like in KotOR 1. It would kind of give you a familiar aspect and then bam, new worlds (The mystery feeling that both KotOR's seem to give you).
Also, of course, have HK and T3 back.
I think the storyline in K2 was a lot more disconnected then K1 I agree with gonzzalez more aliens would be nice and more dark jedi and jedi based characters.
I also think T3 and HK should certintly come into the story they really influenced the last couple of games.
I just had a brain wave. The thing that would make your party complete. I think a jawa would be a perfect character for your party.
:blast5:
:lsduel: :beam2: :lsduel: :lsduel: :lsduel: :lsduel: :lsduel:
I think a jawa would be a perfect character for your party.
I heartily disagree.
Most people (besides your PC of course) can't even understand them, and what good would they do?
That would pose as a problem though if it could speak galactic basic like mission that would be cool. When you ask what good it would do it could come into the story and only be allowed to use guns like HK or T3 with a very high repair skill.
I wouldn't mind a jawa, but only without the hood. I really want to see what those little buggers look like. hehe
Really though, Hk-47 and T3 are a must, if only for continuity with the films.
I'd like Carth to come back. Obviously that would be a problem if you killed him in K1, but if you select K1 to have a lightside ending, I hope he at least makes an appearance.
A sullistan pilot? Yea, that would be cool. I love how the language sounds, so I want a sullistan part member.
Mission!!! I really missed her in K2. It would be cool if we found out she became a influential member of the Republic. Imagine a grown up "General Mission."
How about a new HK-60? I could see Hk-47 being jealous. Imagine the dialogue. Expecially if HK-60 was really humble and a lightsider and Hk-47 thought he was trying to "step on his toes." I just find the idea funny.
Id like a darkside charactor that was in your party no matter what your allignment. Preferably a Dark Jedi that relized he/she needs to help you because of mutual interest.
This is all just off the top of my head, but this is what I would like to see.
I think a new droid would be good for the story line. It would be cool if he was a different class of droid then HK and T3 that would add a little excitement to the storyline i think.
I think it would be good to add more jedi aleins and sith to your team.
i also think it would be cool if in the beggining you could choose to go the jedi accademy or the sith accademy so you can be a long time sith or a long time jedi.
I also think you should be able to have 9 characters but you choose them from about 20 characters in all.
These are just thoughts that ran through my brain so if you disagree just post something.
Mission!!! I really missed her in K2. It would be cool if we found out she became a influential member of the Republic. Imagine a grown up "General Mission."
Her appearance would have to depend on how you played K1...because there are 50% chances she is dead. Consequently, if Mission ever appears in the game, it would certainly not be for a major part.
As for more Aliens in my party, I am not sure. I have nothing against a twilek and perhaps another one but I wish they don't speak alien language as it gets pretty boring to listen to the same sounds all the time. Just imagine if Jolee would have been a Jawa...I would have never listened to his stories over and over :p
A Jawa!?!
That would be almost as annoying as having a selkath as a party member... imaging having to put up with that language.
And i Would like to see another Calthar, perhaps not a jedi but that species must make good worriers even if they are refugees.
Mission!!! I really missed her in K2.
I comepletely agree, she was my absolute favourite character in K1! I ended up taking her with me juse about everywhere.
I could deffinetely go for some more alien type species Trandoshans, Sullustans, Mon Calamari, Twilek, a hutt (ok not really), while not likely i think it would be sweet to have a character that is whatever species darth maul is.
My main thing about characters is that I think I would like to be able to pick from a lot of different characters but have only like 6-9 be in my party so like 20-30 possible characters that you can have join your team along the way but only 6-9 that you can have. And perhaps having the ability to kick ppl out and have others join or if a character dies during the story being able to replace them or somethin like that would be cool.
while not likely i think it would be sweet to have a character that is whatever species darth maul is.
Are you sure you have played TSL? Notice anything similar between Bao-Dur and Darth Maul...?
Yes like him but I didn't exactly like Bao-Dur's character to much...
A Jawa!?!
......
ONLY without the hood. I just want to see what they look like. Anyway I was joking.
Her appearance would have to depend on how you played K1...because there are 50% chances she is dead. Consequently, if Mission ever appears in the game, it would certainly not be for a major part.
........
Oh, I didn't know you could kill her. I always play lightside. I only found out you could kill Carth by comming here. I still wish she could be in K3, but oh well.
Actually, I'm pretty sad now......
.......I ended up taking her with me juse about everywhere.
Yea, me too.
ok i agree that a return of hk and t3 should happen becaude as darth333 put it they ar the r2 and c3 p0 of kotor, i am in some agreement that it should be a whole new cast of pc and npc, however if they do decide to have some of the old characters from the previous games it would be nice to have them as possible npc of your team rather than used for cut scenes and one conversation (i know canderous was the mandalore but i didnt feel he was really part of my team he was just along for the ride so to speak) i would like the influence system to be kissed goodbye it was a nice idea but it was frustrating at best
and being able to turn your whole team into jedi for no real use at the end was pointless in my oppinion
better sith would be appreciated imho they were designed well enough but they were too easy to beat apart from kriea
When i was talking about a jawa in your party i meant one that spoke galactic basic so you could understand it.
If you did that i think a jawa would be pretty cool like i said earlier having more aliens with a variety of statuses.
i hope there is another wookiee. I always felt that Chewie was just as much a staple of the starwars movies as Artoo and Threepio, and for me it just doesn't feel as much like star wars without a wookiee. Even tho he didn't have much to say until you got to Kashyyyk, i really liked Zalbaar. And i always thought the choice to make wookiees scouts instead of soldiers was brilliant. It makes them seem much more sophisticated. Thier natural strength and resilliance is good for melee, but their skills as a scout make them great for ranged. Zalbaar was pretty much always in my party, as he could do just about anything. Kotor, IMO, represented wookiees perfectly.
I think i'd only like to see a twi'lek if its a force user. a non force using twi'lek would feel too much like they're trying to make another Mission, i just wouldn't be feeling it.
I liked the influence system, but it needs to be for more than just turning your characters into jedi. I think i actually would have liked K2 better without all the jedi. Mira is a wonderful ranged character, but once you make her a jedi, she stops gaining all those wonderful range feats automatically. Sometimes i dont even bother converting mira, shes just too good as a scout. Also, i found it kinda hard to believe that all these people that happaned to join my party also just happened to all be force sensitive. I'd like less trainable characters and more classes for non jedi characters. I got really excited when i saw Bao-Dur was a "Tech Specialist", and on the other side of that, i was really bummed when i found that G0-T0 was just another expert droid. I already had T3, i didn't need two expert droids.
Finally, i'd like to see the droids again. i got surprisingly attached to my little T3 unit in K2. And i'd like it if Canderous stuck around for one more go. I like Mandalorians.
if we dont see a ewok soon someone is gonna die :flamethro :bounfire:
I know the droids are like R2D2 and CSPO, but i really don't use them so if they weren't in KOTOR III i wouldn't be that borthered, also i think they should keep the influnce system as i like it, makes it more real.
A female Twilek force user (but looks more like the twileks from Jedi Academy)
A female Cathar (Id like Juhani but another one would be ok aswell)
Well geez all the characters I need are folks from all alingments that can be changed from Jesus to Hk-47 in personality.
I Had a bit of an idea the other day to do with returning all of the characters from the two previous KotORs, This would depend heavily on how they deside to get the information about how the previous two games were played (LS/DS and M/F). If you say you played the first KotOR LS you will be able to have all of the original team from KotOR 1 join your party for one reason or another, but if you say you played it as DS These characters will be replaced with new NPCs. The same can happen for the info about K2 (with the obvious exseptioon of kreia). This way you can have what characters you want from the originals but if you don't want any returning characters (with the exception of the droids) just say you played both games DS. or if you only want members from K1 say you played that light and K2 dark.
Imagine sticking atton and carth in the same cockpit...
I think Atton and Carth in the same cockpit would end up in them trying to kill each other.....especially if I egged them on.
I agree with starmark2k, I'd love a Trandoshan! How exactly you get him could go something along these lines: at a moment in the game you encounter a Trandoshan and Wookie fighting, and can decide who to help. Help the Wookie: light side points and he joins your party, help the Trandoshan: mega dark side points, and nice Wookie pelt hanging in your ship. That way the Wookie lovers are kept happy!
I'd love a bloodthirtsy mercenary type guy too, like that Iridorian you encounter in Manaan.
Please, no more Cathar's! Juhani is so annoying in KOTOR I.
I'd also like Atton, or a character similar to Atton to return. When I played through KOTOR II the third time, found out about his past and turned him into a Dark Jedi, he went from a regular old fool to a really cool character.
I liked the mandalorians but it never gave you much of a chance to join them i thing it would be cool to have canderous back or just another mandalorian and id like to a force sensitive selkath on my team that spoke galactic basic i thing that would be really cool. I really want to see some more aliens though ive already said that about 5 times so you can ignore this if you want.

I don't want a Selkath even if it did speak basic. They might just be one of my least favorite species.

what about kelborn? he was never a party member, but he would be a returning character, plus, he was like mandalore's #2, so that way we could still have a connection to canderous, and he may still play a part in K3, but he wouldn't need to join the party again (its kinda weird for him to go from lv1 to lv20 back to lv6 then up to lv36 and then back down to lv6 again)
and id like to a force sensitive selkath on my team that spoke galactic basic i thing that would be really cool. I really want to see some more aliens though ive already said that about 5 times so you can ignore this if you want.
more aliens would be great, however i think we should all just agree to pretend that the selkath never happened.

Do you just want all the species that Annoy eveyone.
I'd like to see a new cast except perhaps for HK and T3. I'd also like to be able to make the player character non-human. It would be kinda cool to actually play a Twilek or something. It would also make the universe feel a little less humano-centric.
Nah, I wouldn't want to play as an alien. I liked the feeling I got of "my fellow humans and I against these alien scum!". Especially on Nar Shadda!
well it all depends on who we are going to use in K3, for instance here is my theory:
REVAN
Handmaiden
T3
HK 47
Bastila
Mission
Zaalbar
Mira
Atton
Visas
EXILE
The original from Kotor 2
Mission
Zaalbar
see you couldn't have Jolee or Juhani because you either killed them or you didn't depending on which side you chose in K1.
see you couldn't have Jolee or Juhani because you either killed them or you didn't depending on which side you chose in K1.
Well that would be true for all the characters in K1 with the exception of the droids and canderous.
