Lucasarts today announced that the Star Wars RTS: Empire At War will be released in SPRING 2006.

With a release date of October 2005 penciled it, this news must come as a disappointment to fans of the Star Wars Saga, expecting probably the best Star Wars RTS ever!

Look out for more news as we get it

Um, wow. I wasn't even expecting a delay, but at least another 6 more months??? That's an entire year of waiting. *sigh* Oh well, it's for the better.;)

Said this from the start it would be pushed to a 2006 release. Lets just enjoy Episode 3 and count down the days till Empire at War.

Lets hope the longer we wait the better it will be. If it got pushed forward it would have been a faction of the game it could be.

Although it's sad to hear about it slipping, it'll be for the best. And hopefully I'll have a new graphics card by then.

Sums it up quite well.

Do hope this delay will be sufficient

On the brightside they expect a Demo to be released November/December. 2-3 months away now. This info is coming from someone who went to the German gaming convention where they are showing off a demo of EaW.

But yes, it went from October to Februrary..frankly I hope LucasArts has learned its lesson from KotoR2..and whoever's idea it was to ship the game undone was fired so that they never make that mistake again. I can only see bright things instore for EaW with six extra months of polishing.

Well I say more power to them because it will mean (hopefully) that they may either add more units, polish the game a ton, or both. Also I'll have the demo to tide me over for a few months.

And it'll need another upgrade by then also :p

Like I always say when I hear about a game being delayed: Take your time, build the game, there's no rush, fix all the bugs, don't slap things on randomly and ship it out, polish it.

i have no problem with it being pushed back as long as its better. i just hope it doesnt pull a HL2 or a STALKER in terms of delays.

HL2 was delayed one year. The thing was, when Valve announced the release date they were so confident that everyone was more disappointed. I mean from it being announced at e3 2k3 to it's release in 2004, it was about a year and a half.
