I was wondering if anyone else noticed this. Raz makes a reference to a "mental dentist's office" in the Basic Braining intro. Later, we learn that Dr. Loboto is a dentist who removes people's brains.
Mental dentist?
I think Tim may have taken quite a few English classes before writing his games, because this (and a million other things) seem to prove that he has quite a bit of knowledge regarding literary devices.
Dude, that's far out. And then there is that meat plant.
Don't forget the rabbits. :D
Did you notice the rabbits bordering the ceiling and floor of the white hallway in the reception area at the end of basic braining?
Tim Schafer is a pretty clever guy.
I love how
Raz speculates there being a jet underneath Ford Cruller's lab early in the game.
Udvarnoky, could you refresh my memory of how that went? I don't remember it.
I think he mentions how that room they're in at the beggining, before the battlefield part, looks kind of like a mental dentist's office. I don't remember exactly... my brain's scrambled from watching Invader Zim for two hours in a row. @_@ I'll check and see tomorrow.

I don't remember exactly, just when you first enter Cruller's lab and he starts talking about Psychonauts Raz says something like "I'll bet you've got a jet somewhere under here, right?" I think it's right before Cruller mentions how he's too old to do field work and how he sends Sasha and Milla to perform missions. I just thought the ending was sort of a cool nod to that.

Raz: So...this is it. The mental world.
Elton: It looks like a dentist's office.
Raz: A MENTAL dentist's office.
Priceless. I was laughing out loud the first time I heard that, and still do.

lol, I remember that now! Wow, I need to play this game again and try to catch all of the foreshadowing he did.
A lotta foreshadowing was done... Oleander saying he has "big plans" for Raz's mind. Wanting the children to walk around unsupervised on the beach. The meat plant. The bunnies. I don't think the mental dentist's office was one. The jet under the base. Uhm... can't think of any more... oh geez... sorry.. can't remember any more.
You know, if you listen to Boyd long enough he says something about 'the fat kid with the bunny'.
Oh yeah! And vernon says something about a "monster fish with hooks where his gills should be and lungs where his hooks should be".
You know, if you listen to Boyd long enough he says something about 'the fat kid with the bunny'.
He also seemed to know Sheegor"the freaky hunchback girl who loves brains so much" and interesting enough, Raz"the kid with the goggles"
Boyd knows everything. =D
...The hairless lurking suspicious bear.
I liked all the referencing Boyd made to his burning of Hernando's. He said things like
"Hernando!"
"The fire will start in menswear"
"No insubordination, right boss?"
The whole ordeal with the fire just fascinates me. Another little tidbit is if you try to set fire to one of Fred's figures he says "They fireproofed this place years ago, you know, a lot of firestarters used to live here.", which I thought was another nod to Boyd.
I didn't even bother to think of that fireproof line. And I had just replayed That part, too.
Also go into Sasha or Milla's mind after the Lungfish level and you get a kind-of foreshadow to what happened to them.
Have to do it before rebraining them, of course.
Right right, also the World Shall Taste My Eggs! is Oleander's whole plan, so it's foreshadowing into like 5 minutes into the future.
It took me forever to translate that vault. My brother loves it, though.
I didn't understand it at ALL. But then I realised the chick was a brain, then it all fell into place.
Yeah. It was a cute brain.
Crap. Just listen to the loudspeakers. Oh.. so obvious...
Don't forget the rabbits. :D
Hey, did anyone go back and use clairvoyance on the little rabbits?
The rabbits see Raz as Little Oly's dad with a meat cleaver and a blood-stained aprin.
Yeah. At first that was weird. Then it kind of... made sense.

Heh, I admit that I used the All Powers cheat to find that one. But it's only fair: I've already beat the game twice without them.
I do that, too. I'll beat the game several times without cheats and then I make a file just so I could cheat. Makes for good fun, especially since Double Fine put in so much dialogue for things a lot of people aren't going to try. =3
I just saw the Cheat special on this, here are some extras many missed (like me for example!)
1)Use the FishHorn in Loboto's lab and he'll think Sheegor farted
2)Before giving Sheegor Mr.Pokeylope bring it to the kids in camp for some neat dialogue
3)Tough one:Go to Skyscraper Island and climb the skyscraper closest to the mountian and go along the corner, adjust the camera so you see inside the mountain and you can see a love picture left by one of the programmers.
Dude. I had no idea about the Pokeylope one.
That is so getting done next time around.

I'm going to try out the first and second one when I'm playing that game.
Third ones tough, took me 20 minutes to find it, align yourself with the third window to see it! Also did anyone find the "Your Name Here" sign?
I liked the third one--it was a pretty romantic thing to do. exdee. She better have been happy with it. =x
I couldn't find that darn sign!
It's very, very, very tiny. Go Oleander's Door and adjust the camera so you can see behnd it, theres a tiny sign that looks like an opening credit.
Yes.. I am the egg master! Hunting eater eggs from beyond the stars... Mario Culex Fight... Adventure Eggstra... Monkey Island Time Travel... I master them all!
Think of all that cholesterol. :x
Yeah, the Mario Culex one gave me a heart attack, where my heart jumped out of my chest and began beating me with a folding chair.
Wow. I hope that never happens to me.

Ha! I remember that! I leapt off the walkway 'cause I wanted to grab it.
Has anyone ever tried pyrokenesis on a squirrel? If you haven't, try it, and see what happens!
Squirrel stew tastes just as good.

You got them all! Here's some squirrel meat!
I remember making a thread with the title of, "Wierd things at camp" with the, "your name here" sign in it. Under the name of Postage Stamp of course.
Squirrel stew tastes just as good.
Mmmmm...Squirrel.
Mmmmm...Squirrel.
I didn't like roasting the birds though. When they catch fire they fly away, and its really hard to get their flesh.
