Well Minilogo sent me this model to skin, and I really liked the way it looked. Even know I was working a character model, I thought I'd at least skin this on the side. It's the shadow empires Virago... or Star Viper. It's pretty cool design... His modeling, my skinning.... it should come out pretty darn good. Mars out!

Looks cool, Neon is from the Black Sun line of ships if im not mistaken. Really cool back in SotE!
yeah all those shots are with the wings folded back cause they open up. i had bugs with the old one cause the guns are normally folded back but they flip forward in attack mode. it would make the lasers shoot in the wrong direction no matter how i pointed the tags but i think ill try and make it work for this one. but once its skinned the rest is a piece of cake so itll be released very soon.
The SotE TC team will love this in their mod.

ok its in game now i just need to get an exhaust effest for the engines cause two of them are large and two of the engines are small. so i dont really know how to make an exhaust effect that has two different sized emitters. so if anyone knows how to help out with that please post so i can release.
I'm guessing that it woould either require placing two sets of tags:
i.e. tag_exhaust1 for the big exhaust and tag_exhaust2 for the small one on the model itself and then making two different effects using FXed or using one single exhaust tag on the model and then making one single effect that somehow, amazingly perfectly fits all the exhausts using FXed.
But I haven't done this stuff for ages.
BTW: Looks very nice - does it animate into its "attack" mode when you take off? (Like when the X-Wing opens its s-foils?)
yes the wings open up and it looks pretty sweet too. and i might not add a shader cause i like the dirty look to the ship instead of it shining. all i need now is an exhaust that fits but im gonna try some things and see how it turns out.
ok its in game and all bugs have been fixed. its fully animated just like in the SOTE game even the guns flip around. i didnt make a shader cause i like the matte look to it cause it makes it look worn and not like it just pulled out of a body shop:P

The star viper looks better than any of us could have imagined. You totally rock!!
Very nice stuff. The virago ship is one of my favorite ships from the EU. I think it's the ship's odd design, like the falcon or the outrider. Great work minilogo.
