The force is strong with the Official PlayStation 2 Magazine (OPS2). Later this month the popular magazine features more exclusive first looks at games than ever before; leading with a trilogy of sizzling Star Wars scoops.

As the emperor of UK videogames titles, OPS2 offers a world exclusive first-look at Star Wars: Battlefront 2, as well as loads of screenshots and new information from the long-awaited Star Wars: Episode III game. The intergalactic frenzy is rounded off with a playable demo and definitive OPS2 review of Lego Star Wars.

Apart from the Episode III content, some new modes of play and the boarding idea, what warrants Battlefront 2 to be a stand alone title?

I've gotta say, after giving online play a chance again 5 minutes ago (finding it futile) and then hearing this announcement, I was a little sick to the stomache.

"This is the way the dev's wanted it done"?

I suppose it doesnt matter, as that's apparently LucasArts' goal of leeching as much cash as possible.

I dont know about anyone else, but do any of you feel cheated somewhat?

They could've waited a half a year...

I suspect they started with it before SWBF was released.

Uh Oh, no cockpit view for vehicles, LAME!!!!!!!

The guys at IGN say there is no 1st person view for flying vehicles. This is very disturbing to me and already makes me question another purchase. Devs, if you're reading this, please reconsider.

Hey all. I played this at Celabration 3 in Indianapolis. Lots of improvements. I don't think we will be disappointed.

The fact that it must be released in conjunction with the DVD makes me nervous. So no matter what state the game is in it will be released on that day? Isn't that what ruined BF?

Nevertheless, it would be more realistic to have a cockpit view... I don't think a pilot could see its ship at third person view...

I agree the cockpit view should be in the game. I mean sure not everybody uses it but it is a neat option for those who want to be challenged and it makes flying a bit more realistic. I personally never use the cockpit view (I'm a bad enough pilot without it) but it is nice to know that the option is there for people who do want to use it.

More realistic without ? :( I don't think a true pilot would consider third-person view as "realistic"...

I have been practicing getting all types of vechiles in places they weren't meant to go. Believe me when I say the cockpit view is much better at flying through tunnels then the 3rd person view.

I dunno about the cockpit view, It would be a good feature to have and try out, But i don't think u would be able to see too much, Also you wouldn't be able to see behind u and would prolly get gunned down fair bit

That's why the third-person view is still present in SWBF II...

But the cockpit view should still be available for those who want a more challenging or realistic game, not many people would use it but it's always nice to have the option.

the cockpit view is cool because you get to experience the battle from the view of the pilot. however, taking off when there are obstacles around you is suicide.

they've taken the first person out - good - this means they can fill the new memory on the cd up with good stuff - right?

Actually, I think that Pandemic won't replace the first-person view (If it is really cut off) with other stuffs...
