Simple question really, Whats the best computer game you ever played? I know as this is lucasforums chanses are they will be star wars or at least lucasarts but i just want to know what games you would recomend or think were great.
I like the splinter cell games and Star wars: Knights of the Old Republic (proberly not too much of a surprise)
Probably Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.
I also liked Half-LifeІ alot, but it just didn't last as long.
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
and
Goldeney 007.
Close contenders are last Ninja 2 and Midnight Resistance (atari).
wow, so many... Freespace 2, Wing Commander 3, Outlaws, JK1, Sam and Max, X-Wing Alliance (i see a trend here) those are all tied for the best game for me :)
Tell me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the best COMPUTER game you've played? Whats up with the console games listed?
Anyways, Jedi Knight, no doubt bout it. I even made a list of my top 10 games:
Clicky (
http://www.thelastchild.net/top10games.php)
It is a tie between "Call Of Duty", and "Aliens Vs Predator 2".

Hmm, though choice... I feel a draw towards KotOR... yes, KotOR it is!

Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight and the expansion Mysteries of the Sith.
Many have come close, but none ever equalled the long-term fun I had with that one. It'll always have a special place.. ;)
the Half-Life series, the Kotor series, and the Chronicles of Riddick: EFBB top my list.
Grim Fandango (
http://dod.dotagame.com) and Monkey Island, but for games that aren't adventure, I'd say Half-Life 2 :D
tough one.
Galaxies for me comes close. butthere has been a few i really thought were remarkable.
Command and Conquer. (almost all off em)
Rollercoaster tycoon
Transport tycoon deluxe
Carmageddon + splat pack
the GTA series
the delta force series
a lot of the need for speed games
these games have pllayed a big part of my world :) psst carmageddon is good for getting rid of your anger :p
Wraith 8
kotOR I (1.04) is the best game ever.
runners up include -
Dark Forces 2 - Jedi Knight, Tie Fighter, and possibly kotOR 2 (depending on how good the patch is)
JKII, JKA... the Max Payne series. All good games :D

Thanks for that clarification. I guess I can post in here now. :) *is a console player*
Best game I've ever played?
Heh.
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars(SNES)
And some runner-ups:
Super Smash Brothers: Melee(GCN)
Star Wars KoTOR II: The Sith Lords(Xbox)
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind(Xbox)
Final Fantasy X(PS2)
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater(PS2)
Goldeneye 007(N64)
Super Mario 64(N64)
Metal Gear Solid(PS)
I'm not much of a console gamer, but my all time favourite game is The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
As far a CPU goes....
Kotor 1, Madden NFLXXXX(buy it every year, never disappoints),
Fallout series, Tachyon:The Fringe (Bruce Campbell, What more needs to be said?), and Vampire:Bloodlines....It all depends on my mood, so I can't pick just one!!!
The Golden Sun series (GBA)
Call of Duty (PC)
Deus Ex (PC)
Jedi Academy (PC)
Knights of the Old Republic (PC)
Fire Emblem (GBA)
Unreal Tournament Series (PC)
Age of Empires II (PC)
Warcraft III (PC)
...My favourites. In no particular order.
Tie between KotOR and TSL :p
The KOTOR series rocks, as does the Jedi Knight Series (Dark Forces series). I'm also a great fan of the GTA series.
Jedi Knight : Jedi Academy, even though it is aged, stays a true reference for Star Wars games...
Oh yeah, the MGS series, MGS 1 (50 MB DEMO at Download.com) and MGS 2 are both on PC. Ummm, as for consoles:
Zelda, MGS TTS... ummm, the star fox series is good. Soul Calibur II was cool. 007 Everything or Nothing is probably the best 007 game EA has made. The gameplay was actually cool, and it appears that they put a lot of work into (except that last fight... and CG cutscene... so rushed it wasn't cool, actually it was disapointing)
I thought 007 series was made using elements of Half-Life, like AI or models... Right ?
the best PC game I've ever played is either BF2, or half Life 2
Dark Forces, Jedi Knight series
NeverWinterNights Series... HotU being my fav...
Though any (good) RPG will satiate my gaming whims :D
hehehe, Ultima 4 on commadore 64 (ancient history)... :D
now nearly all the Star Wars games...
I'm kinda biased, but Grim Fandango will always be my favouite game, closley followed by the HL games (inc CS / CS:Source)
HL games ? As the first Half-Life title and its add-ons ?
Consoles are computers, he didn't say PC.
So technically he should have said "video game," since that would cover arcade, console and home pc. ;)

He said:

Emphasis mine! I'm assuming he meant the "entire series."
Boy we're nitpicking today eh? Myself included. ;)

Do you mean GoldenEye was based on the Quake 1 & 2 engines? I never heard of any connection, in fact I just sort of assumed that the "007 games" used their own engine(s) but I don't know that for a fact. I would think if they used a popular liscensed engine I'd have heard about it. Not every FPS has to use an id Software based engine though.

I don't remember exactly anymore... I just know some 007 series' games were made around Half-Life's engine and AI... But which ones ?
I know one 007 game was made using the Q3 engine, so I have heard. It sorta feels "Q3ish"
Modern 007 games couldn't be from HL1... they look too good to be. Maybe an old N64/PS1 title... maybe. Tomorrow Never Dies was a game, wasn't it? I heard it sucked really bad though.
It was a PC game (Amongst other platforms...), if I'm wrong... And you're probably right when you say "Tomorrow Never Dies" was a bad game... (I believe it is the Half-Life's engine-based 007 game...)
The best game I have ever played is Deus Ex. It had a well developed story line, immersable locations, interactive game play, excellent hud system. It combines the best of FPS/RPG games. Runner up would be Jedi Academy, but only because it has an extensive modding community. Now if they could only combine the two, add Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator for air vehicles, Grand Terismo for land vehicles, vehicle damage, npc/item/world interaction like in Morrowind, they would have the best game in the universe.
I haven't played that many computer games, but I'd say Black and White, I never got tired throwing those sheep...
I'd say MI2, to this day.
"MI2" ?
Monkey Island 2.
Thank you, Insane' ! I'm less stupid, now... :D
I must say The first three Monkey Island games, Sam and Max and Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time ofcourse...
Chrono trigger on the snes or KOTOR im not sure its a toss between them
Lemming Ball Z (
http://www.acid-play.com/download/lemming-ball-z/) has moved up on my list considerably.
Seriously though, Commander Keen 6 comes in second. Classic gold.
the best game i ever played was Jedi Knight Dark Forces 2.
Knights of the Old Republic series, followed by Grandia II, then Star Trek: Armada II.
The best game I played was Alpha Centari
I got to add Resident Evil 4 (GCN) to my console list... very good. But I think Twin Snakes still tops it.
Half-LifeІ and Mods.
Morrowind
BattleField 2
