I tried lucasfiles.com once but they never uploaded my file :(. I must have done something wrong though, I'm sure they are a reliable site.

You can let me know which mod it was and I can check. Lucasfiles.com is the only officially sanctioned download site for game mods for LucasArt's games.

@Darth333, Then why does it only have 31-KI and 16-TSL, if it's the only "Official" site then you'd think LA would've gone after PCGamemods?

@Gsccc, Actually I was originally just looking to share files back and forth for testing purposes, as my e-mail wouldn't do it. I used rapid share, and I don't have anything to compare it to, but I thought it was pretty good.

Because there have only been 31 K1 and 16 TSL files approved for downloading on the site. Also most people don't submit their mods to the website. If you look at the majority of release threads they either have "my site!" or "pcgamemods.com" links only. I wouldn't bother putting my mods on the website as it doesn't seem popular at all no matter the game while pcgamemods.com has a hell of a lot of mods (not all good but hey).

I think it was Rise of the Sith for Kotor 2, It could have been Reign of the Sith for K1 or A new foe beta for K1, but i am pretty sure, almost positive it was Rise of the sith, and it just never got put up. I think maybe they didnt approve of it because of file size.

Thanks to Visac and Darth333, all recent KotOR/TSL mods submitted to LucasFiles.com (http://www.lucasfiles.com) are now listed at the top of Starwarsknights.com's News Page (http://www.starwarsknights.com) and on the Featured Mods page (http://www.starwarsknights.com/mod_week.php).

With a bit more of his magic, Visac will soon turn this dynamic list into an RSS news feed. News of your mod will travel to millions of computers around the world so they can all see the pink lightsabers, the new romance mod, or the wicked Sith mask you've been working on. It's free publicity from the only download site officially endorsed by LucasArts.

Sounds great now all we need is lucasfiles to support ".rar" :D

And let us upload our own files like PCGameMods does. :xp:

Edit: I do see some mods available in Rar format now though. ;)

With the apparent loss of PCGM, KotORForce.com has taken the liberty of creating a mods database for KotOR and TSL. We also have a section for Tools and Tutorials. We're hoping to expand the database greatly over the next few weeks.

If you would like to upload your mods to our database, please feel free to do so. I would also like to request that everyone upload all the tutorials and tools they can.

The files that are already uploaded were present on the old KotOR.com mods site, and have simply been moved to a new and better server. If you see a file of yours there and would like it removed, contact myself via email, or PM me at either KotORForce.com or here at LucasForums.

That might be a bit hard to do, since clicking the "Downloads" button on that site only takes you to a page that says "No Categories Defined.", with no information or links about how to upload things. ;)

EDIT - Reply to below:
Seems to look differently now, so they apparently changed the page after I was looking at it.

It works fine for me. Rasp has been finishing things up... try it again, and if it still doesn't work, I'll talk to Rasp. But I don't se what the problem could be. I can see it as a guest.

I should probably give a link, huh? Might help. Here you go. (http://www.kotorforce.com/forum/local_links.php)

"Forum membership is required to download KotOR modifications and other files."

??

Don't know about others, but I tend not to sign of for forums, etc. just to download something. That may severely limit your usership.

I've mentioned it to Rasp. Here's what he said:

For now, guests will not be able to download. Perhaps in the future, though. I'm not worried about the downloads database drawing in members.
Sorry guys. I may be an SM, but I can't edit the permissions... it wouldn't be a good idea for me to do so anyway.

Edit: Time to thank Tarados Qeng. He's convinced Rasp. Guests can now view and download mods.

I want Bastila's Revelation Robes removed off the site.

I know for a fact that I have never uploaded that mod to anywhere except for My Site, PCGM, LucasFiles & FileFront. And only *I* should be the one submitting my mods anywhere...

Not blaming you Doc, just wanted to make you aware that someone may have in the past submitted this without my knowledge (and definitely not with my permission) ;)

Also, I still can't view the mods without having to register...

Doc, you should definitely bring up the issue about redistributing mods without other people's permission with the other people at that site. The previous staff of kotorfiles did that a while ago, and their name was Mud at Holowan. Even their apology thread had to be closed. Assuming that the staff at KotORForce is copying mods other than Chainz's, I would strongly recommend that you put a stop to it. While you'll probably get a lot of mods in the short term by doing that, it discourages modders from submitting files to your site. It could cause even more controversy with the statement I found at your site:

"The material you wish to access is proprietary. Please confirm that you will not make copies or distribute it to others without permission."

If your fellow staff members have been copying files, that statement might even be grounds for legal action.

I'm on it right now actually, Devon. ;)

I'm removing all mods by modders I know (RedHawke, ChAiNz, Darth333, etc.), and I'm going to make a post or ten on KotORForce about posting mods. It'll work like this:

If someone wants to submit a mod, they have to send it to me personally first. I will contact the author of the mod myself, regardless whether I'm told they were contacted or not. Only once I'm sure permission has been given will I post the mod.

The bolded word above would be my wild prediction of the chances of success of this particular file repository given the current circumstances, unfortunately. Neither LucasFiles nor KotorFiles.com requires any forum registration just to access materials submitted by others. The apparent ambivalence of the site staff doesn't bode well for the longevity or reliability of the service either.

It does strike me as somewhat peculiar to go through the trouble of offering a service if you aren't really interested in people using it. Or to advertise it here if it's primarily intended as a service for the KF forum members. :)

PCGameMods is broken and has been for a long time. Given how long it has been broken with seemingly nothing done to fix it it's doubtful that it will return to working order any time soon. If you are looking for a particular file from it you can request it in this thread (http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=167699). If you want to upload a mod, try LucasFiles (http://www.lucasfiles.com) or KotorFiles (http://www.kotorfiles.com) instead.

You ain't the only one Prime.

I'm with you and Prime on this DK.

Doc, I mean no offense as I'm sure your intentions are only good, with trying to provide another place to host mods since PCgamemods has been "unreliable" as of late, but I believe we had a problem a while back with a site hosting mods the creator didn't upload, I believe it was Kotorfiles actually... don't remember. Anyway, I was browsing the avaliable mods and some of the older modders stuff was in the Kotor section, people like gameunlimited and Talchia whom, granted I've been away a while, but I haven't heard from them in a while and I doubt they submitted the mods themselves, but if they did I apologize.

I'm afraid that some people seem to think that I have the capability or authority of changing the permissions myself. I don't. It's up to rasp. He's adament about users having to register in order to download a mod, in hopes that those members will post on the regular forums after they register.

We did (did being the key word)... since then, there has been new management and I've worked with them to re-establish a good relationship with them :)

Kotorfiles = FileFront (whenever I'm referencing it)... ;)

I've uploaded all of my mods over there as a show of faith and Shem, Jedikilla & InyriForge have been nothing short of superb at keeping the "new & improved" site under careful watch. I support them and Kotorfiles/FileFront fully now :)

Sorry for the double-post gang, but I didn't want to delete it because it contains a response about FileFront that I feel is important for modders and this community :)

Anywho.... for the topic...

I've added 4shared to the list in the first post. :)

1gb Free, more space available for an annual subscription. 50mb limit per file.

Good site and doesn't seem to have a bandwidth limit. If it can support the massive downloads an Oblivion mod can get without crashing, I'm sure they'll welcome the KotOR/TSL community as well :D
