aaaakk! don't use dialog.tlk to make descriptions. especialy if you plan to post your mod. that file is over 5 megs and nobdy wants to have to mess with that file. also if dialog.tlk is edited you can't patch your game.

Instead open the file in your gff editor and use LocalizedName and DescIdentified to add the descriptions. what you do is select
LocalizedName in the right panal of the gff editor type -1 in STRREF then in the box that says LanguageID type 0 hit enter and a text box will open up that is where you type in the Name for the item, follow the same steps for DescIdentified. Just be sure to back up the file before doing this. because the gff editor is't 100% compatible with KotOR files.

next to find the icons
start KT goto ERFs-->texturepacks-->swpc_tex_gui.erf-->I
all the item icons are in I .find the icon for the baseitem of the item you made and change the number to that of your item.

you don't need to as far as I know. I think you just make a TXI file that says

Blending Additive
Decal 1

Something like that, could be wrong though.

The only things I can think of would be anything involving a lightsaber or a shader, again, could be wrong though.
