I'm making a map, and have custom skybox textures. I dont know how to add these to my map. Ive read richdiesal's tutorial on skyboxes, but it says nothing about custom skybox textures.
Thanks.
ok, I got all the way up to this: You get the 6 skybox textures, you put them in your texture folder, you make a shader, you put it into your shader folder, you put it all into a pk3 with your map and it should be in radiant. Its not there.
And you add the shader to shaderlist.txt. If you have any problems with the shader, catch me on MSN, gothicx3@hotmail.com.
Can you make pictures you got off the internet sky shaders somehow? I sure would like to know how to do this... I have a sweet sunset picture.
well, I added it to the shaderlist and nothing happend so I redid the shader and it worked :)
EvilJedi, yes you can...I did.
You need to download skypaint at skypaint.com. Is is specifically used to distort ordinary images into a perspective-skybox view.
You simply load the picture and the program will create the view. You press "paint" and you'll get a image in MS Paint of that specific view, distorted.
except my pictures are all .jpg files and won't work, what do they need to be?
I'm not sure what you mean, you can of course convert all image tipes to the tipe you want it with an ordinary imaging program.
wut files do they need to be? .jpg files don't work so....
Anybody know of a good skybox tutorial?
For Terragen there's an official user's guide on the site that explains things very well
