hey all, i reolize that this is not the forums to ask this question but i have tried in the modeling forums and the skinning forums and people arnt responding after 2 weeks. so heres my question

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

hey all, i searched the forums and everywhere, nothing turned up. a ton of my default models are showing up in my game as the checkered caulk texture and i want them to look like they do when i play a level that came with the ja game. (and if possible id like to texture them with textures i have made). can someoen tell me how to do this?

What modeling programs to you have? If you don't want to spend anything $$$ get gmax (it's free).

I don't know if these models came with the sdk or what, some of the JO models are missing textures. If you have JO just put the missing textures into JA and save yourself some time.

Try going to Textures > Flush/Reload Shaders.

Or, try changing your options for entity drawing. There's a button on the toolbar that will say "Draw Entities As..." or something like that when you hover your cursor over it, click this and select "skinned" or "skinned and boxed."

Like Wade would say "Search!" ;) I just tried a search with google and the first thing that came up was the link to the software.

On this point, I did try to use a big-butt plant from Nar Shadaa on my map and the model shape loaded fine (into Radiant) but it said shader missing. I looked in the JO PK3's and all the shader files looked the same as in JA.

If the shader is missing, which file (or even, files) do I need to copy into the JA directory to make them work?

I think all the shader code is there but the textures aren't but I'm not sure since I haven't looked into it much. Some models don't work well as a regular misc_model either. Try misc_model_breakable or misc_model_static.
