no actually you are , you download a RAR file , you extract it with winrar like you would a zip file and winzip , then you put THOSE files in to your override folder

im guessing you have never come across a RAR file before ? am i correct in assuming this ?

filename.rar is a rar file , filename.zip is a zip file

winrar : www.rarlab.com/)

go to the download section and download the one for you , the have quite a few localised versions , ie Korean , Italian etc etc

download the file to somewhere on your computer , desktop or a download folder if you have one where oyu download everything to

run the file so that you get the install wizard on your screen and install like a normal program

once it is installed you can right click on rar files (and zip files aswell) and select several options for extracting the file like with winzip , "extract to .." "extract here" , "extract to filename" etc

all your .rar files will now have a new icon for them that looks like three books on top of each other

hope that helps , any questions just ask

Ok im thinking I should just pack it as a zip  I guess .rar isn't as widely known as I thought. I like rar because the files are smaller than zip.

T7: what about a self extracting exe that you can choose where to stick the files , putting "put these in your override folder" in the spot where people can select their override folder

A couple of tools recently released.
KotorTLK (http://webpages.charter.net/krumsick/kotor/KotorTLK.zip) - GUI Search/Edit tool for the dialog.tlk file
KTLK (http://webpages.charter.net/krumsick/kotor/ktlk.zip) - A command line search tool for dialog.tlk
DLGSearch (http://webpages.charter.net/krumsick/kotor/dlgsearch.zip) - A command line tool for searching through dlg files for specific resref entries.

Also, please note the URL for KSE has changed. I've added some installation scripting for it, so it is no longer a zip file. You can download KSE directly from here (http://webpages.charter.net/krumsick/kotor/kse_install.exe).

Could you add the following links below my Easy Swoop Racing mod?

Medium difficulty Swoop racing mod: the track layouts are slightly modified on both Manaan and Tatoine to allow players to gain a few tenths of a second on their best times.
http://jupiter.walagata.com/w/tianhou/2406785.zip)
(This mod is also hosted by Tianhou_Zhong.)

A few DS mods:
A small mod that allows players to force choke a couple of arrogant NPCs on Manaan: http://mars.walagata.com/w/darth333/ManaanFC.zip)

Another small mod that gives HK-47 the possibility to kill Yuka Laka:
http://mars.walagata.com/w/darth333/YukaLaka.zip)

And finally a DS recruitable Dustil mod at :http://d333mods.tripod.com)

(the other mods are also available at this link)

Thanks.

I've placed the spells.2da file inside the Override folder but the game refuses to start up while it's there.

I guess I need a 2DA Compiler or such tool but I'm pretty clueless as to which one I should get or how to install it.

Help, please?

Bat : the 2da file should work right off the bat (pun not intended) just drop it in and load , does it give an error or something telling you why it wont load ?

I see now. I saved it in the folder but it was as a text file. I just deleted the "txt" extension and it became a program file. When it didn't work at first, I thought I needed to download an additional program to activate it or something :o when I simply needed to give it another try. Thanks for keeping me in the right direction.

Hopefully this will get added to the list in the first post at some point, but...

I figured I'd post my mods here as well. I have a new set of Jedi Robes, one brownish (http://warped.prodns.tripod.com/pics/robeslight.jpg) and one dark (http://warped.prodns.tripod.com/pics/robesdark.jpg). They come with special abilities and can be found in the game at certain points. They can also be used to replace existing robes.

My other mod is for changing lightsaber blade colours. It is just all the extracted textures for each blade. You can create new colours by editing these textures.

These mods can be found here. (warped.prodns.tripod.com/games.html)

Does anyone know how to get Kel Fisto's Saber to work, I have unzipped and put the w_lsabreteal02.txi file in my override folder then used "giveitem rs_w_lghtsbr99" in game but just got one of those wonderful blank grenades, any help would be great, the White Qel-Droma robes rock though.

Um...Kitty or someone who can tell me what I'm doing wrong...I can't get either of the Use Force Powers with Armor mods to work....I added it to the Override folder, and made sure it was selected to be used as a 2da file....and all appeared fine...but then when I went into the game to use it, it still said my force lightning was restricted by armor. What do I have to do to make it work?

Is it "spells.2da.txt" as a text file? If so, you just delete the .txt to turn it into a program file.

Or if all else fails at the end of the day I could copy my file that seems to work a-ok and e-mail it to you...

That would be awesome because I've checked under properties multiple times, and it is listed as a .2da file, not a .txt file. Can't seem to figure out what's wrong with the bugger. :D

For those of you who dislike the turret game, but don't want to remove it entirely, here's a simple mod file to put in your override directory that will 'simplify' winning somewhat.

It seems your ship's hit points have risen a bit, from 3000 to 30000, and, gee, those Sith fighters now do 1 damage per hit instead of 10.

If you can't kill them all now, well... Hopeless. <grin>

Gee, so you die ten times slower, great! (I've always hated the game. Once I hadn't saved on Manaan on the Hrakert Station. I left to Korriban, and died at the turret game, and had to do the Hrakert Station AGAIN!!!!!

Hello there.

@Kitty

Guess I have to ask you too, just like I did to T7 (I'm waiting for an answer...)

Do you allow me to translate your tutorials in french?
Guess it could be useful to young guns that just speak hack-n-slash english (You warrior, you go there, you kill, get prize)....

Thanks a lot!
