I've posted threads on several new hilts I've made. I've decided to release these new hilts along with my JO hilts as a hilt pack for Jedi Academy.
The hilt pack will have 2 pk3's. One will be for multiplayer, and the other will add the hilts to the SP menu.

Nice.
Where can I download it?
I'm thinking of adding a couple more hilts to it, but when it's done I'll send it to lucasfiles.com
 Holy crap thats good! :D
Really Nice Hilts Alaris! I especially like the Anakin and Staffsaber, hell, I like them all!!!
Very awesome. I will probably just use movie hilts though
Ah, some of those hilts bring back good memories.
It is good to see you release them, as well as new ones, for JK:JA.
They're looking good. ;)
yeah dude, i think the staff is the coolest, i love obi, and just seeing some obi-wanish saber put into a staff, it brings warm feelings to my heart:)
Funny you should say that---I made an obi-wan hilt the last couple days. I'll post some screenshots later today.
obi-wan hilt is done--I may add a few more, not sure.
Here's the ss for the ingame hilt. This model has a huge polycount for a hilt (almost 1400!), but when it comes to replica's I'm a perfectionist
http://users.cableaz.com/~ryan_hutchings/obi-wan_ss1.jpg)
WOW, HOW MANY HILTS ARE GOING TO BE IN THE PACK?
Wow, these look great!!! I love your perfectionism. ;)
Do you plan on making more hilts from the movies?
Those look fantasitc! Can't wait to try them out!
twiddles thumbs in anticipation...
Thanks again! After the snub "I'll stick to the movie hilts" comment, I thought I'd add a few movie hilts for fun. After all, I'm sure some of the jedi trainees are making replicas right, right? ;) ;)
Anywas, I made a qui gonn hilt today that is, I think, my best work yet. I'll post a screenshot tonight.
cool man the obi-wan hilt is awsomness!!!:)
Thanks! Thanks! That's the kind of fuel I need to finish this project. I made this hilt today---from scratch....today. It was VERY slow at work ;) ;)

Alaris, would the Darth Maul Saber or an influence from the Maul Saber be out of the question? How about Dooku, or Mace Windu?
lol, I'm putting the finishing touches on my Maul saber, and I'm thinking of a Dooku and Mace as well as a few other custom sabers before I release the pack. Great minds think alike!
Looks sooo good can't wait to replace some that I have with your man.
A-1 work alaris.
And here it is. I've always thought Darth Maul's lightsaber was very dull and not very sithy looking. After modeling it, I can honestly say that it's been almost the most challenging and definately the most fun saber I've made yet. I modeled it after the hilt that master replicas makes since it's a bit flashier than the original.

This screenshot isn't rendered in 3ds max. This is just the milkshape 3d view. I'll render it tonight.
WOW!!! VERY NICE!!!
NOW WHAT WE NEED IS A NEW DARTH MAUL MODEL TO BE MADE!I love this saber and the way you modeled it so far looks great!!
I would love to try this out ingame!!
We need away to be able to break this in half while saber fighting if anyone knows a way to make this in two double sabers after it being hit a few times for JA please let me know

You have an Obi-Wan ANH hilt in the works? Nice work!!
Bad-ass Maul Saber Alaris! Great minds do think alike! Your Movie sabers are Great to the Extreme and your own inventions are Kickin too!!! I can't wait to see what your hilt pack will be like, and to take out Jar-Jar with one of them!
That is a sweet maul saber.
Oops, posted twice again. =\
Looking good. :D
What program do you use to model these ?
Daaaaaaaang, these are good. The Obi Wan saber hilt looks exactly like the toy Obi-Wan lightsaber I used for my Halloween costume this year. (I was actually Kyle Katarn, but hey, it worked fine)

Milkshape 3d. Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, and Windu were rendered in 3ds Max, and Maul was just the milkshape3d 3d viewport. I'm working on a tutorial. I have the modeling aspect done. I just have to get the "getting it in game" part done.
Man alaris, this stuff is simply amazing!!! I almost can't believe it!
I know this is a very, very bold statement... but have you ever considered making an ultimate hilt pack with all of the hilts from all of the movies (and your own amazing creations as well).
It would be a ton of work and would no doubt get very boring, but it's something no single hilt maker as ever been able to do, or much less try.
However, if I could choose someone to make such a pack...I'd be you. Your hilts are really that good. :D
That is a TIGHT Mace Windu Saber Alaris, actually Professional is the word I should use to describe all your work, or should I say Perfection? I am truly amazed at your attention to detail! I haven't seen anyone able to get the gold electrum plating color for Mace's saber yet, but low and behold! Again, as always dude, nice work!!!
Padawan_7, Dude do you know what thread that you are posting on? This is Alaris's "WIP: Hilt Pack". Which means he is making a hilt pack of practically all his sabers(Movie and custom). Check out his past posts for the excellent work on this project. You will see that what you requested in your post will come true!
Oooooooooo Maces is the best!

Milkshape 3D, is their a free version of that, 3Ds Max cost bomb loads...:(
Have you given them the tag for the blade, or whatever you have to do to make it have a blade in-game ?
If you talking about setting up a .sab file, which makes it work in-game as well, then i coudl do that for you if your having trouble... :)
Milkshape is a independent modeling program that costs like $10.........
gmax is the free version of 3DSMax just that gmax doesnt have all the bells and whistles.
Lopyerheadoff,
I have read all the above posts....

Instead of a pack of a few movie hilts along with his own creations, I was suggesting a pack of all movie hilts along with his own creations. :D
those movie sabers look awesome! you planning on more?
woot...awsomely greatness alaris, i mean these hilts are so great im just drooling!:D
like a guy allready asked, you should really make an ANH obi wan saber:D

All the hilts I've posted are in game as shown and have their own .sab file---so they will be in both Single Player and Multi-Player.
The only exception is the Maul hilt. Apparently, only the double-bladed hilts are limited by 1000 polygons, so I had to remodel almost the entire hilt. Below is a screenshot of the Maul hilt at 990 polies. :dev7:
http://users.cableaz.com/~ryan_hutchings/maul_ss1.jpg)
The Obi-Wan hilt is the only hilt that goes over 1000 polygons. All the rest are just under if I remember correctly.
Ok, Friday and Saturday I made "The Peacemaker" hilt. Originally I made a 2D photoshop drawing of this hilt for my buddy almost a year ago for his Star Wars RPG Bith Jedi Apprentice character (Bith is the race of musicians in Mos Eisley's Cantina).
Anywho, the hilt is actually based on the hilt of an actual ninja sword that sells for just over $100 retail, so neither I nor my friend can take credit for the originality of the design. Nonetheless, I think it's a sweet design and makes for an awesome lightsaber hilt.

will all of these apear in the hilt selector screen or will they replace whats in there?
good question seks. They will be added to the hilts selector screen in addition to the existing pathetic hilts. :)
ive seen that ninja sword the peacemaker hilt is based off of!
hella cool man, and really good stuff:cool:

I thought I had seen that hilt before. LOL
I sell United Cutlery Product at work.
Anyway alaris great work as always.
Excellent! They should put that Sword in the new Blade: Trinity movie! Alaris, do you have an updated screenshot of all the sabers you've done already?
I'll render the lightsabers into one shot when I am done.
Here's the latest.
