But still, that force involved large capital ships owned by entities like said Banking Clan and capable of going toe to toe with Venators, in addition to the fact that the Trade Federation alone had enough battle cruisers to blockade an entire planet...  [Read More]

You're bribing your way through enemy systems to get to your destination. If your destination has an enemy fleet in orbit, then you'll end up fighting them--but you don't have to fight the fleets that were in orbit over the other systems in the way....  [Read More]

It would be great if some industrious modder could write a GUI frontend for editing galactic maps and objectives. I know it's easy to do via XML (and I keep telling myself I'm going to try setting some GCs up), but I bet community-built galactic conq...  [Read More]

Yes, however having them in the unmodified version has the advantage that you can play MP (plus, I dunno how to modify XML :p ) I'm not sure what's involved, exactly, but getting some maps with more specific objectives so that we can use that "c...  [Read More]

You all need to learn to: a) not put words in other people's mouths, b) not argue past one another, and c) not take a counterargument as an assault on your character. I strongly suggest that you all take a moment to digest previous posts before imm...  [Read More]

The Capital ships shouldn't be exact copies of each other but they should be balanced against each other. Not necessarily--As YertyL and I have suggested, each unit of each particular type of each faction does not need to be completely balanced again...  [Read More]

Again, There are many other solutions to the given balance problems; The balance problem with starfighters could be easily remedied just by strengthening the Rebel starfighters, and the balance problem with the Capital ships could be solved with a si...  [Read More]

Look, if you're going to use spaz tactics like this then that's your business, but if you're not going to bring in cruiser support than that's your fault. Don't base requests for unit upgrades on simply the fact that you use weird fleets. As I pointe...  [Read More]

And let's not forget something else which is irritatingly vacant from these discussions. ISDs carry sh*tloads of fighters and bombers, whereas the Mon Cal doesn't. The Mon Cal takes up the same population yet cannot accomplish as many tasks as the IS...  [Read More]

You can set up multiple quotes by typing in the BBcode manually in your post: paste whatever they said {/quote} ...only you should use square brackets [] instead of curly braces {}, which I used so that the board won't actually turn the above code...  [Read More]

What about increasing the speed and turn rate of the Mon Calamari Cruisers instead of improving their weapons? As long as they can stay in the blind spot behind an ISD, it doesn't really matter how many guns they have...and that would be more in keep...  [Read More]

TIE Phantoms can go 80 seconds under cloak with 10 second cooldowns? Makes them a whole lot more interesting... Funny how they've made a lot of balance changes to the old EaW units, like A-Wings and Corellian Corvettes. You'd think those would be al...  [Read More]

The game manual mentions all those things. It's also cheaper for bounty hunters to elimenate targets on corrupted worlds, and smugglers don't time out after five days on corrupt worlds. The whole point is to make the Rebels and Imperials a little mor...  [Read More]

I'd find it cool if this was implemented in the game, making the TIE phantom able to shoot and cloak automatically right after that, making him a unique craft good for sneak attacks on enemy bombers (the time of cloaking should still be limited thoug...  [Read More]
