In the Civ guide, it says that Geonosian Warriors can get shields... how? Is it only in full tech, or is there some upgrade that I can't seem to find? :confused:
Yeah, I think that sucks. The Geonosian Warrior should get shields when it is upgraded to elite in tech-4. They aren't the sturdiest air units in the game and could use some shields. Right now there seems to be no different between Elite and Regular GWs.
Elite Warriors move appreciably faster. Whether this justifies the upgrade is a matter of opinion. Their bonus vs. some units may change too, I'm not sure, but their baseline attack remains the same.
Personally i find the Geonosian warrior a waste of time and resources, a few shots from a fighter and its toast without getting a shot off.

I don't really think moving faster is worth the upgrade. I mean, if Elites received shields, armor, or even an hp boost, then it be worth it. They are kind of expensive, but they do their jobs well (I think they are mostly there to counter the Republic's massive clonetrooper armies).

maybe so, but they arte a perfrect counter to the republic. They smash through troopers without blinking.
The best use for the Genosian warrior is a fast T3 rush. 5 of these badboys and you can rip an economy to pieces. Other than that they are lame. In T4 they are killed way too easily.
They can also get sheilds if converted by a civ with sheilds (like the republic)
